Anything I thought I learned about not driving through large amounts of water apparently does not count if you’re in Guatemala in the rainy season.

5 year class reunion was last night
I’m living in Guatemala and spent the weekend in Honduras.
High school Mel never could have imagined this and I love it
As I debate with myself what to have for dinner, all I really want are my mom’s mashed potatoes
But they’re currently over 2000 miles away

Tonight I discovered a Dairy Queen in the city and the Guatemalans I was with probably think I’m nuts cuz I about cried from happiness.
I don’t even care we all got Dilly Bars.
Said good morning to one of my Preschoolers today and he whipped around and glared and said “why are you so happy today?!”
Mondays are hard for 4 year olds too.
