Got the 2nd place in Hannover for the German MCR Open 2025

Was in Belgium for a MCR + Riichi tournament. I think playing MCR also trains Riichi mindset that one needs to keep an open mind on all options, but as a guy starting with Riichi I didn’t expect to win this special chicken prize 🐔 for winning the most 🐔 hands (hand with 0pt)

After missing 大三元 in the main event, I got 国士無双 in the side event, my 1st IRL Riichi mahjong Yakuman. The spring came too late!
With my “Ron, 32000”, I saw at least two tables turned their head to ours and Katsumata-san at my table clapped for me 😛 #世界麻雀TOKYO2025

I was absolutely surprised to know that I would be streamed, and that was only 30 minutes before the game, but internally I kinda expected it because there was Hisato-san, does this sound ambivalent? 🤫

I was really nervous and suffering from jet lag. Sorry that I couldn’t show my best mahjong to you. The empty pon and the wrong score announcing were particularly embarrassing, which I wouldn’t have done otherwise. Many regrettable moments but was enjoyable. #世界麻雀TOKYO2025
