Torus just deployed their Prophet Finder release. This update allows any holder to submit accounts for the swarm to learn from. Let's explore how this will supercharge @torus_network growth. 📃👇 I've written a lot about Torus in the past. I highly recommend checking out my latest pieces to stay up-to-date on everything Torus. Last time, we discussed why social media is the best place to find predictions. Torus is building the infrastructure that allows us to identify accounts that are more 'right' than the general audience, which gives them an edge in their field. This data is incredibly valuable, and as the betting market grows, there will be more and more easy ways to monetize this. There are many ways to find users who consistently provide accurate insights on a specific subject, but numerous factors need to be taken into account. Mainly, finding how users predict in different markets and identifying which market a user is making predictions about is a huge hurdle to automate. You need to understand the lingo; without it, you will never be efficient. Humans are great at spotting these nuances as they can 'understand' something that is far more complicated than just telling a bot to 'know'. We already see this with the current prediction swarm. As more things get automated, more interference in small fields is required to ensure the swarm is actually learning and finding data with value. The result? We still rely on humans to ensure the swarm grows as intended. To build true swarm intelligence, we need to remove this factor. Torus must be able to grow itself and understand which agents are doing what and for which reason. This is where the Prophet Finder release comes in. Anyone who has staked at least 100 $TORUS can submit any X account to be added to the swarm, which will then check all previous posts to find predictions. While this sounds easy, you get a super powerful result. A mix of X accounts sorted by expertise, built by humans, serving as the base case for agent information. By adding accounts that humans think are good predictors instead of having the swarm randomly guess accounts, we make the model far more efficient. Given that we are in Web3, it makes sense to first see a lot of economic predictors, with sports betting and politics to follow soon after. These aren't just markets where many predictions are made, but also where a lot of money is allocated to bet. We not only gain a better information set for the swarm to continue building on, but also ensure the focus will first be on fields where people are willing to pay for good information. I'm a big fan of this approach. If this experiment is successful, we will see the swarm scale at an even faster pace than it already is. And once we start seeing the first tangible results, we'll instantly be able to utilize them using betting platforms and see if there is an edge to be found compared to our expected outcome data. If enough people submit accounts, we will remove a lot of bias as well, as we want to get a diverse mix of submissions to counteract this. The Torus team allocated a small prize pot of 10.000 $TORUS to be paid out to users who submitted the most predictions. Last time, we discussed why social media is the best place to find predictions.

Torus is building the infrastructure that allows us to identify accounts that are more 'right' than the general audience, which gives them an edge in their field.

This data is incredibly valuable, and as the betting market grows, there will be more and more easy ways to monetize this.

There are many ways to find users who consistently provide accurate insights on a specific subject, but numerous factors need to be taken into account.

Given that we are in Web3, it makes sense to first see a lot of economic predictors, with sports betting and politics to follow soon after.

We not only gain a better information set for the swarm to continue building on, but also ensure the focus will first be on fields where people are willing to pay for good information.

I'm a big fan of this approach. If this experiment is successful, we will see the swarm scale at an even faster pace than it already is.

And once we start seeing the first tangible results, we'll instantly be able to utilize them using betting platforms and see if there is an edge to be found compared to our expected outcome data.

If enough people submit accounts, we will remove a lot of bias as well, as we want to get a diverse mix of submissions to counteract this.

The Torus team allocated a small prize pot of 10.000 $TORUS to be paid out to users who submitted the most predictions.

Leaderboard will be published on the 7th, so if you have any accounts that you believe should be added, make sure to add them before then.

Compared to providing data to an agent or LLM without human cognition, Torus seeks out experts who are often more 'right' in their fields. This approach offers users a clearer understanding of upcoming events, enabling them to act strategically and maintain their advantage. The Power of Human Intuition. Humans offer something AI can't replicate: contextual intuition. We draw from personal experiences, cultural nuances, and emotional cues to predict outcomes. For example, a human analyst might foresee a market dip based on the sense of social unrest, while Torus's AI relies solely on data. Research shows humans excel in "scope sensitivity," understanding the scale of events and outperforming AI by 5.5% in recent forecasting tournaments.
