Today's meeting will include a public demonstration of a new voting system under consideration for use in North Carolina elections. This allows voters to see this equipment in action and learn about all the safeguards in place in our election system.

After Election Day, each county board of elections meets before certifying the results to make decisions on provisional applications submitted by voters.
If the board determines that the voter is eligible, the provisional ballot is counted like every other vote.
In 2022, we had 253 provisional ballots cast in Rowan (out of more than 48,000 voters). π³οΈ
EVERY provisional application is examined closely by our staff to determine if the voter is eligible. π

PROVISIONAL BALLOT is the ballot type given to a voter when eligibility questions arise. State law mandates that no person shall be denied the option to vote a provisional ballot. Check out our provisional voting page: https://t.co/PBPTXvIgyo

Reality: NC registrants werenβt required to provide a birth date until the '90s. When DOB was unknown, election officials would enter a placeholder as the voter's DOB (1/1/1900 or 1/1/1901).
Rumor: Votes are fraudulently being cast by 120+-year-olds.
