India’s land-record ecosystem is undergoing a major digital transformation, with technology increasingly connecting land parcels, maps and ownership information.

Nearly 99.90% of Records of Rights are computerised, while more than 40.58 crore land parcels have been assigned a unique Bhu-Aadhaar (ULPIN). About 76.16% of parcels are fully georeferenced, creating a stronger link between digital records and physical land.

The broader digital framework also includes computerised property registration, integration of spatial and textual records, and drone-based urban surveys capable of centimetre-level positional accuracy.

For the real-estate industry, this could strengthen property verification, due diligence, ownership transparency and digital transactions.

NITDA Concludes 2026 Kids Long Vacation Coding Bootcamp Across Four States

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has successfully concluded the 2026 Kids Long Vacation Coding Bootcamp, held across four states—Kano, Kwara, Jigawa and Gombe—in partnership with stakeholders, while similar training activities are ongoing across the South-South and South-East regions of the country.

The programme equipped participating children with foundational skills in coding, computational thinking, digital creativity and emerging technologies, providing them with practical exposure to tools and concepts that can support their future participation in the digital economy.

Beyond technical instruction, the bootcamp fostered essential life competencies, including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, persistence and problem-solving. At the closing ceremonies, participants received certificates and gadgets in recognition of their achievements, marking the formal end of the intensive training in the four states while signalling the continuation of their broader learning journeys.

The ongoing activities in the South-South and South-East further demonstrate the nationwide reach of the initiative and NITDA’s commitment to ensuring that children across different regions have access to early exposure to digital skills and technology.

Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, who was represented by the Director, Special Duties Office, Babajide Ajayi, described the participants as “young digital creators, innovators and potential technology leaders.”

He urged them to remain confident, curious and courageous, applying their new knowledge through practical projects, technology competitions, exploration of emerging tools, idea-sharing and mutual support.

“When something does not work, do not be discouraged. Identify the problem, learn from it, improve your solution and try again. The spirit of curiosity, persistence and problem-solving will serve you well, not only in technology but in every aspect of life,” he said.

The Director General called on parents and guardians to sustain their support by encouraging responsible exploration of technology and nurturing the children’s talents. He emphasised that such guidance would determine whether the skills acquired remained temporary knowledge or evolved into lifelong passions and careers.

Inuwa reaffirmed NITDA’s commitment to early digital skills development, noting that empowering young Nigerians with relevant technological competencies is essential to the country’s digital transformation and the building of a globally competitive digital workforce.

Kenyan fintech startup, Flowt, has secured an undisclosed pre-seed funding round to expand its AI-powered financial intelligence platform, which is designed to help climate-smart businesses across Africa gain easier access to working capital.

Founded by Elana Laichena and headquartered in Nairobi, Flowt uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyse business accounting records and bank transactions, transforming fragmented financial information into reliable data that lenders can use to assess borrowers.

The startup’s first financing facility has gone to GreenBay, a Kenyan circular-commerce company whose expansion has been constrained by its inability to hold enough inventory.

The investment, secured from Delta40 Fund I, Impacc and Argidius Foundation, will support Flowt’s expansion across Kenya.

“Flowt lends against verified transaction history,” Laichena said, arguing that this approach can make working capital “both fast and affordable.”

Flowt is a Kenyan financial technology startup building an AI-powered system that helps lenders understand the financial health of small businesses.
