Yesterday, I joined the Executive Chairman of Agege LG, Hon. Vinod Obasa, to inspect Akin Doherty Road and commence plans for a joint reconstruction project.
The road, which serves as a boundary between Ikeja and Agege, has over time created challenges for residents,

@CoalBoom@DeydeyRev Lolz, they will fly to Enugu to give you funds.
I understand having an office in Abuja for a start otherwise, we would be talking about another type of scandal from huge hotel bills
@DeydeyRev@CoalBoom Itโs still befuddle my thinking that people donโt see the importance of having an operational office in FCT.
The early years would need a lot of bootstrapping and talks with DFIs.
They would spend more in hotels if they followed through that route sha
@Ohimiri_ This agency means a lot to Ndigbo if it works well.
A regional agency that can drive international capital, shared development aspirations and other priorities is not what we allow jobbers kill it
Itโs a shakedown and not accountability exercise
How Mark thought he could run SEDC wout "carrying along" OUK et al., eludes me.
They want the NDDC-style of capture.
The tussle between them & SE Govs over control of SEDC will subsist till they have control.
And Mark must learn the politics of such offices or get crushed.
@Ohimiri_ If SEDC was given a fair hearing I wouldnโt bother but from what I saw, our classic disunity is in play
Mark is likely on his way out as he would be reported to the presidency that stakeholders donโt want him.
Then we would get a new wizkid who wonโt be from Anambra definitely
@Ohimiri_ This is an emotional claim and thatโs the problem.
The senators are also my bonafide people so why should I not make conclusions based on that.
You think itโs only those senators that hold those views that SEDC is disconnected?
Its a popular view as we can see
@Ohimiri_ What other evidence of lack of direction do you want?
I have seen some talking about agro industry and other empowerment from 3bn or so.
We must decide if we want a development commission or slush funds
@Ohimiri_ So now that journey is supposed to start, the same elites are quibering about SEDC having an office in Abuja without accounting for how critical that is to take-off and liaising with DFIs that would advance capital
@Ohimiri_ This is SWDC and Dawn collaborating.
Development commission are more than project bazaars but should form the brain trust for regional advancement through collaboration and proper policy articulation.
The work to have a SE Investment vehicle is bigger than anything else

@Ohimiri_ That the hearing is for accountability, itโs not for accountability but they donโt like the direction of travel in terms of project that the SEDC is taking.
And that conversation should go beyond a public hearing.
