A 9% tax on those earning below 30k will easily yield 2.7Billion/ month using 20k as average.Annually,that's 32.4 Billion enough to fund something substantial including free education which is the main pain point of the current average Kenyan who has to pay tax &school fees

This move is laudable and timely. I am however a proponent that everyone should be taxed equitably. I propose that MPs amends it to tax 9% for <30k and 10% for <50k ,18% for <100k, 22.5% for 300k and cap PAYE at 25% as upper limit. This way we all participate in nation building.

Govt introducing amendment of the law, no more Pay as You Earn (PAYE) tax for all the 1.5 million working Kenyans who earn 30k and below, another half a million Kenyans earning 50k and below will have their PAYE tax reduced from 30% to 25%.
