Being a gen z is all fun and games until you realise you can't even get an entry level job with 2 degrees, everything gets replaced by ai, everyone is becoming meaner by the day and the earth is basically falling apart when you're just in your twenties 😃
I genuinely think that if we adopted a 4-day, 32-hour workweek with livable wages, people would be happier, healthier, and more present. There’s no reason we need to work this much. People need time to rest, enjoy their lives, and spend time with family and friends.
WHEN YOU REALIZE THE BABY BOOM WASN'T JUST SOLDIERS COMING HOME HORNY.
It was soldiers coming home to the GI Bill free college, 0% down home loans, low-interest business loans.
It was strong unions. Pensions. A house that cost 2 years of salary.
It was confidence that the future was actually going to be better than the present.
That's what produced a baby boom. Not romance. Security.
You want a higher birth rate now?
Give people a future where they know their kids will actually be okay.
That's the whole formula. It's not complicated. It's just expensive, and nobody in charge wants to pay for it twice.
5 white dudes have more wealth than half the ENTIRE planet. Tell me why a black and brown immigrant is the reason you're struggling... Explain it to me like I'm 5.
Wenye wanajua, know exactly what is missing hapa. Lakini stakangi io conversation juu huwa un-ending. A kid at that age acting ivo means only one thing!
Full grown adults that can’t swim, cycle, skate, backpack, take a gap year, vacation, play an instrument or speak multiple foreign languages. Just a lifetime of hustling and trying to leave survival mode. These are subtle poverty metrics that no one really talks about
I miss when you could just work harder and smarter than everyone else and actually get ahead. Now it feels like you need a personal connection just to land a basic job that barely covers the bills.
US doesn't have a VAT. Why? A tax that punishes production is just stupid to begin with.
Also, this would suggest that govt taxing income is more important than economic growth to the govt.
If you brought this argument, it would be right to ask what is the role of govt.
