@Breno10616 @AeonArcadia You'd have a point if those games had those rooms every other screen, but they didn't. The platforming was either sparse or part of a challenge. In Belmont's Curse, it's just like those screenshots every other room.

@SkyKniight Another gripe is that the way weapons work is that as you unlock them, despite having a preferred weapon, you're kinda forced to default back to whatever does more damage. So despite loving the lance, I had to go back to the sword or struggle doing half the damage.

@SkyKniight See, my main issue was that the game is a bit too platformy for my tastes. Like, Castlevania had platforming, but it was never to the level of basically playing Hollow Knight or Celeste. On top of that, there being no contact damage feels like you can just face rush down bosses.

@Joe_Zone_Layer Even then, MMO players have evolved since the first iterations of the genre. You got people optimizing raids with dodging mechanics on par with playing a Touhou game. It's just what humans are naturally dispositioned to do. We as a species are built to find reward in optimization

Except the fact that no one says a word as they speedblitz dungeons without even giving a simple ready check in pchat. Time spent talking is time not spent getting geared up or farming. It's funny when a streamer like you prolly hasn't spoken to someone in game casually ever.

This looks innocent, and its hard to explain, but this is exactly the type of thing that fucks up WoW Vanilla.
WoW Vanilla is extremely good at forcing players to talk to eachother, help eachother, and make friends.
Every single QOL you add that simplifies that process is against the core of the game.
There is a reason that in Retail, you can go do 2 dungeons and 2 zones without having said a word to anyone- and when u dont need to, people simply dont.
Its not about "the option", its about that ppl need to be forced into positions where they must communicate, this is what makes wow vanilla tick and why its such a hypersocial experience you cant leave without making friends.

At least being able to tag yourself like this helps to keep the ones who want optimized runs and those who are learning to run them with out the dance of whispering 20 people going "DPS, new to x dungeon" or similar only to get ignored or otherwise.
