My #CH3GirlsCup2026 review after watching the livestream:
The livestream was fine for about the first 45 minutes. After that it started lagging occasionally but would recover. Around the two hour mark, though, it became noticeably worse, and during the final three hours it was freezing roughly every 40 seconds. That was honestly such a shame because it really affected the viewing experience.
This year’s event had so many activities, and I loved how everything was divided into clear categories. It made the whole event feel much more organized. I also really appreciated that each activity had a short VTR introducing it before it started. That was definitely a step in the right direction. The only thing that stood out to me was that the VTRs looked AI-generated. They’re not quite there yet. Maybe next year they could hire local animators instead, it would give the videos a more polished feel while also supporting artists and animators in the country.
The games were genuinely fun, and everyone got to participate equally. The four MCs had great chemistry, kept the show flowing smoothly without awkward pauses, and their jokes actually landed. Huge thanks to all of them.
Every performance was put together so well. You could tell everyone had practiced a lot and gave it their all. Every actress should be incredibly proud of herself because the teamwork and effort were obvious, and they truly deserved all the praise they received.
What made me happiest was seeing every single actress get her moment to shine. They all had solo parts or major moments, even during the group performances. The team captains were also given individual stages, which I thought was a wonderful way to recognize their leadership.
Both team captains, P’Bow and P’Gina, did an amazing job. P’Gina clearly put her experience from being captain last year to good use and did a wonderful job motivating her teammates. As for P’Bow, despite it being her first year carrying such a huge responsibility, she handled it incredibly well. Both of their solo performances were fantastic too. Honestly, I’d be more than happy to see both of them return as captains again next year.
Outside of Girls Cup, the actresses rarely get the opportunity to fully showcase themselves. At the annual CH3 Anniversary Football Match, the spotlight has traditionally been on the male actors, so seeing all 27 actresses receive equal attention and space to shine at Girls Cup felt incredibly refreshing. That’s honestly what made me happiest. And of course, Lolo—our adorable grandchild, completely stole my heart. Thank you for giving Lolo some well deserved airtime! I’m pretty sure my little grandchild was just as happy as I was… along with his mami and mama.
Overall, I had an amazing time. I was genuinely impressed, and this event made me really happy. Finally, thank you to everyone on the production team for listening to last year’s feedback and making so many noticeable improvements this year.
Most importantly, thank you to all 27 artists for giving it your all throughout the entire six-hour event. Your energy, dedication, and enthusiasm never wavered. Although a few had to step out briefly due to health reasons—which is completely understandable, I wish everyone recovers quickly and comes back next year ready to run, play, and have fun together again.
One of my favorite things about this event was that nobody faded into the background. Every actress had a chance to be seen, and for a lot of viewers, this was probably their first introduction to some of them. I’m sure quite a few people walked away with a new favorite today.
To me, Girls Cup was proof that Channel 3’s actresses bring so much more than just visuals. They’re performers with real talent, and today’s stages showed exactly that. With enough preparation and strong creative direction, performances like these could absolutely headline a larger venue.
