@IanCutress @Arm This really makes sense to me especially on phone screens - the pixel density is so high that you don't really need the extra detail from rendering in higher res, but better upscaling will make sure graphics stay sharp.

@MichaelToole @Reaper_gI I didn't know until now that Blu-ray even had a non-Java menu system. Seems to be image based kinda like DVD menus but better. Hollywood stuff seems to sometimes use the Java stuff as part of copy protection, but maybe the non Java menus are easier/cheaper to author?

@KitsunemimiVR @x_ecutive @AgingWheels @mrheathjones Most of the "black smoke" is the result of illegal modifications that remove or bypass the emissions controls that the vehicle would have been sold with. Big engines properly tuned with e.g. cat converter aren't terrible, but still not good :/

Acoustics for @bigwreckmusic at the @REDBLACKS are pretty awful. Music playing over the PA system during the game was nice and clear, but the speakers on the field for the concert were muddy and caused a lot of echoing :(

@retrotink2 @MattTheRobotGuy @BlurBusters Unfortunately, there's a lot of DVD content out there which has telecined video encoded as interlaced rather than progressive (with pulldown flags) so this is something that could still help. But given digital input data like DVDs, offline processing is an option too.

@Omar4ur @not_surt To explain this a bit more clearly, the alpha value corresponds to how much of a given pixel is covered by the shape being rendered. Imagine drawing a shape on graph paper then shading each square based on how much of the square is inside vs outside the shape.

@SwiftOnSecurity I find it kind of ridiculous that they don't support the original Surface Go.
The "Surface Go 2" is the exact same device, except for a refreshed version of the same CPU that as far as I can tell only adds some Spectre/Meltdown related mitigations.
