.@NYGovCuomo is signing the 180-day executive order for local school districts, should they need to close over the virus. State law requires schools to be open 180 days a yr.

Itโs time for us as citizens to realize policy in all areas (housing, medical care, job illness policies) needs to be redesigned with all humans at the forefront. We canโt keep expecting schools to solve all the problems on their own.
Time to adopt contingency plans for school shutdowns. Open few select sites in each borough to reduce system density, transport kids via school buses, medical care & meals for vulnerable students & prioritize care for kids of healthcare professionals & emergency first responders
