I finish my maternity leave this Friday and start back with @BASW_UK full time from Monday 15th.
Today I'm on a 'keeping in touch' day. Has much happened the last 9 months? 😅
This week, @kimleadbeater announced changes to her assisted dying bill to involve expert panels, which will include social workers, in the process.

dipping in from maternity leave to say that this is a good step - BASW have been saying since the Bill was announced that social workers are experts in coercion and safeguarding and should be involved - two aspects that must not be overlooked.

Kim Leadbeater will scrap the sign-off from a High Court judge for assisted dying.
She will table amendment to replace it with expert panel - senior lawyer, psychiatrist and social worker.
Judge-led commission will oversee panels.

I'm going on maternity leave and will spend my time trying to keep a little baby human safe, happy and healthy.
