With Australia’s data usage on the nbn® network tripling in the past seven years and the number of internet-connected devices in our homes set to grow from 22 to more than 30 in the next couple of years, we are now consulting retailers about an exciting new proposal to provide faster speeds to customers connected to the nbn® network via Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) and Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) technologies.
The proposal? To provide five times faster download speeds on our popular nbn Home Fast product to accelerate wholesale download speeds from 100/20 Mbps to 500/50 Mbps.
We are also proposing to triple the wholesale download speed of nbn Home Superfast from 250/25 Mbps to 750/50 Mbps and increase the wholesale speeds of our highest residential speed tier, nbn Home Ultrafast, from 500-1000/50 Mbps to 750-1000/50-100 Mbps – at no extra wholesale cost to retailers.
