My landing page was “pretty”
But it converted poorly (8%).
I changed it to showcase how my app works and conversion → 25% 📈
Design doesn’t convert. Clarity does.
Every time I build for myself first, it lands. Keyboard shortcuts were a "let me just add this" feature. Devs lost their minds over it. Building in public teaches you who your real users are faster than any research.
I built my app to solve this and instead of doomscrolling, I’ve been reading more Substack articles and watching long-form YT.
I’m happy about this change.
Nobody talks about how much of indie building is just you, your laptop, and a completely irrational belief that this will work.
No audience, no validation yet. Just keep going.
