@_PhilCosta Yo man there's obviously a middle ground tho. We got lucky with a low percentage Havertz goal; beyond that one moment we were never scoring a goal. That's a tactical issue and it's not the first time (but perhaps the most egregious one)
@EdmundGriffiths Any sci-fi that 'asks what it is to be human by inviting us to see the world through the eyes of a robot'. Some good art, once upon a time. Now...
@jetskitosway2 She wanted to use actual passages from the book but his estate wouldn’t let her. I think she re released the song in the 2010s once they relented
@siennamarla@lukeakehurst And Luke’s politics are going down like fine wine right now. Do you think your journalistic integrity ought not to compel you to uncritically platform this kind of dishonest misdirection?
@SolHughesWriter@zarahsultana i guess we’ll see. i think a lot of people are (rightly) losing patience with parliamentary democracy and if YP is just another Jobs For The Boys vessel, but left wing, i would guess its failure would be equal but more protracted
@SolHughesWriter@zarahsultana seems clear from what others are saying that Karie Murphy’s faction wanted to centralise the party and exclude the other factions, no?
@Zonal_Marking can't read the article but isn't a big factor that refs have been given increasing amounts of discretionary power by Howard Webb to issue cards for soft reasons? taking to the ref, waving imaginary cards, time wasting etc
@leninology@poltheoryother haha np. I only mention it cos I think Charlie's work is another interesting example of capitalism applying an extractive logic to criticism of that logic, and in so doing nullifying the force of the critique. kinda beautiful in a horrifying way. Möbius strip-type shit.
@leninology@poltheoryother which is kinda funny in a way cos back when PC Music was an underground collective doing new things they already commodified it themselves, using the single Hey QT to sell an energy drink, QT, that they created specifically for the purpose
@leninology@poltheoryother are you familiar with PC Music/hyperpop? Brat comes from that lineage, it started as an ironic parody of neolib commodification. Charli's work sits within the genre but essentially commodifies the aesthetic, and therefore the critique itself
@clivepafc For me, Bayern did things to us that you just can't stop, no matter how well you press or how athletic you are. It was a sign that to get better we can't just improve how we suffocate teams & dominate, we need to match technically what elite teams are capable of. Technique>>>
@mlothianmclean Which is in opposition to what it is to be a 'good dater', either for ourselves or others. The requirement is that we stay on apps, dissatisfied but hopeful. Everything works backwards from that.
@mlothianmclean Dating apps are a part of the current political economy, I don't think there's a neat separation. They're a digital space with logics that reward specific behaviour and do psychic damage if you hold certain values, I think they incentivise us to become good workers/users
