Today, we’re sunsetting JPEG.
What started as a simple idea became an incredible learning experience. Over the past months, hundreds of you joined the beta, shared feedback, tested new features, and helped shape the product.
While we’re proud of what we built, we’ve decided not to continue operating JPEG in its current form/ product.
Building consumer products is never a straight line. Sometimes the right decision is not to push forward, but to step back and take the lessons learned into whatever comes next.
To everyone who supported us, tested the app, and believed in the vision: thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.
The app will be winding down, effective immediately. We will be pivoting and exploring new form factors/ products.

@SreeramRamdas thanks!! I had no idea about different kind of leather textures 😄
only considering it from product photography and lighting perspective 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@SreeramRamdas Agency A did bring out details well and B could have positioned the highlights in a better way. Agency A is textured but flat, B looks real but it is missing the texture details.
Multi exposure combined would work best if they are not using the sharpest lens
@danywander Totally agree! body def should not be serifs. I was referring to headings and other UI things. I get irritated reading long articles in serifs
I wish I'd found this website sooner. The Pudding takes complex data and turns it into beautiful visual essays. Rather than just reading about a topic, they build custom games and charts for stories so you can explore the concepts yourself. Must check!
