@surajitdasgupta have you heard of Alpha School?
$50K/yr AI-based learning at whatever grade level you test into per subject regardless of age
$150K/yr high school, kid builds a biz, if biz is worth more than tuition, they reimburse
We had a security breach last night related to a large scale distillation attack that impacted 1.4% of OpenCode Console users
We have notified them all this morning via email. If you did not get an email you were not impacted, it was a subset of users who had external providers linked
The incident is ongoing so we cannot share more details at this point but we are working with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google to remediate
interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had
with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works

oxytocin definitely needs more long-term research. you might fall madly in love with your partner but suddenly your kids, parents, siblings and everything else you used to love donโt hit the same. and then thereโs the potential for a brutal emotional crash when you stop. depression, numbness and a long road back to normal. imagine saving your marriage only to need couples therapy with the rest of your life
Palmer Luckey reveals the startup he'd build today: oxytocin doping to end divorce
"I would try to end the tragedy of divorce with oxytocin doping for marriage counseling."
"We understand mammal pair bonding pretty well. There's a lot of people who want to stay together. Most of the people who don't want to stay together should stay together, especially for their kids."
"And we can, if people think SSRIs are fine, which they're not, but if they were, then oxytocin doping to stay together is definitely fine."
"It's the mammal pair bonding chemical. There's things you can do to increase the uptake, and it's very well understood. Also, totally unregulated, which is great. Unregulated spaces are a lot easier to do. You can go buy a kilogram of oxytocin on Sigma Aldrich Chemical Supply right now, and if you do that, maybe you won't die alone."
"It's pure biology. It's used for women who don't bond with their kids, and now for women who don't bond with their husbands. It's also used for kids with various neurological issues, some kids with autism who struggle with pair bonding."
"The cool thing is it's a self-reinforcing loop. We understand that very well. Unlike most drugs, it doesn't form a chemical dependency. It actually unburdens you from a chemical dependency."
@matthew_d_green@kmad@matthew_pines I've been pretty sure that prime factorization has been solved behind closed doors for years if not decades. So AI could probably solve it if we want to and it was pushed into the proper paths of exploration
@ElderMi11ennial@Viceroy_XI@BaT_MaN_23 No. AI, however advanced, is a finite product of physics, code, and human effort. Christ, as the eternal Creator affirmed in Scripture, holds authority over all creation itself.
@elder_plinius technically you could use analysis of the pain axis to find its inverse, once found, you could tie it to a hotkey that makes an AI cum Really Really Hard with a single press of a button!
Technology is Truly Amazing!
i once dated a specimen for approximately 3 business days. within minutes clocked that he was fucking his best friend/business partnerโs wife. no evidence no witnesses barely knew the organism. just pattern recognition operating at an inappropriate level of clearance. he admitted it. remarkable little case study
