Term limits

For years, I've held 12 years total in any combination of house or senate. 2 senate terms. 6 house terms. 3 house, one senate. But if you do 4 house, not eligible for another senate.

With the caveat that they do not work or do consulting for any company or organization that (directly or indirectly) derives over 20% of its revenues from any government related contract for a period equal to their term of service.

Also, any security clearance they may have obtained during government service should be terminated concurrent with the end of their government service. Takes away a lot of the motivation of potential employers to hire them if they no longer have access to privileged information.

Violation of the restrictions of employment/consulting should result in automatic sentencing in a Federal Prison equal to the length of their term of service, without possibility of parole, and forfeiture of any pension resulting from their service.

Consequences need to be substantial and harsh enough to dissuade even taking the chance to cross the line.

Would think that would cut out a lot of the graft and corruption, and make the motivation to serve be for the right reasons.

Newly registered in TX. Will be traveling for the runoff. Never thought I'd ever be in a position to think my absentee vote in a primary runoff would be at all important. But I disliked Cornyn long before I moved here, and I won't miss the opportunity to cast a vote for almost anyone else to get his ass out
