Makerfield Heating Ltd: The Company Behind the Candidate
Robert Francis Kenyon is asking the people of Makerfield to send him to Parliament on 18 June. Before they decide, there are some documents worth examining.
Makerfield Heating Ltd, company number 17014370, was incorporated on 5 February 2026. Sole director: Robert Francis Kenyon, born March 1985, 30 Hamilton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, WN4 0SU. SIC code 43220. Plumbing, heating and air conditioning installation.
Every Google review is five stars. One was left by Ann Kenyon. The owner thanked her personally by name.
Two further reviewers, Paul Smith and Leila Haider, each have only one Google review to their name. Both are for Makerfield Heating Ltd. Paul Smith's profile is restricted. Smith's name appears in local Reform and Kenyon social media comments as an apparent supporter.
The company has a registered domain, https://t.co/OBGNFVOeJo. It returns a Wix placeholder. No website has been built behind it. A trading plumbing business in a competitive local market with five star reviews but no functioning website raises an obvious question about who those reviews are actually for.
Kenyon was elected to Wigan Council on 7 May 2026, representing Bryn with Ashton-in-Makerfield North. His declarations of interest page currently shows no entries. Newly elected councillors have 28 days from taking office to register disclosable pecuniary interests including directorships. That window has not yet closed. Makerfield Heating Ltd does not currently appear on any public register of interests anywhere.
A formal right of reply was sent to Mr Kenyon by email at 11:15am on Sunday 24 May 2026. The questions covered the relationship between Ann Kenyon and the company, the connection between Paul Smith, Leila Haider and the company, and his satisfaction with the authenticity of all reviews.
The deadline was 11:15am Tuesday 26 May 2026.
No response was received.
This weekend, the Observer reported that Kenyon had made anti-abortion comments on a rugby league discussion forum in 2019, calling abortion the cowardly act of murdering a defenceless baby and suggesting women fabricate rape claims to terminate pregnancies. He admitted in further unearthed posts: "I'm sexist, sorry but I am." The Mirror reported Carol Vorderman calling him a disgusting online abuser after sexually explicit comments about her were found on deleted accounts. The Times has today reported that in 2019 Kenyon stated he did not vote for Brexit, writing that he woke up the morning after the result terrified by what had been voted for. Reform have made Brexit a central dividing line in this by-election campaign.
Reform UK's response to all of it: "These comments were made before he entered politics."
Robert Kenyon entered politics in May 2026. Makerfield Heating Ltd was incorporated in February 2026. The van Nigel Farage rode in during the campaign was bought three months ago.
Views don't change. They just get hidden.
A right of reply was offered to Robert Kenyon and to Reform UK. Neither responded within the deadline.
Some notes on my work ethic:
-I last voted in Parliament on 18 March, so I haven’t done my job for ten weeks.
-I’ve never held any face-to-face constituency surgeries, despite apparently having £5 million to spend on security.
-I refuse to do interviews or face press scrutiny of any sort.
-when I was in the European Parliament I had the 4th worst attendance record out of 748 MEPs.
-although I did manage to turn up to vote AGAINST plans to tackle Russian misinformation.
-I was on the Fisheries Committee but I only turned up to ONE out of 42 meetings.
-but I will of course be taking my £73,000 EU pension.
Vote Reform, get lazy, grifting, self-serving sacks of shit.
Isabel Oakeshott on Nigel Farage buying a £1.4m house: “I honestly don’t see why it’s anyone’s business. Why should people know how he paid?”
Isabel Oakeshott on Angela Rayner buying a 2nd home: “I smell a massive rat. How on earth has she raised the money to buy a £800k flat?”
Just let this sink in.
These 2 traitors were paid £1 million each to rig General Election, destroying democracy.
Billionaire owned UK Media IGNORING IT.
ALSO DESTROYING DEMOCRACY!!
I have taken a bit of an interest in you and your past activity in politics, Luke Tryl.
When we look at your track record, it is clear to see you were a special adviser in the Conservative government, working directly for Nicky Morgan at the Department for Education. You were also a director at the right-wing think tank Reform, and you managed educational campaigns within the Conservative party itself.
Please correct me if I am wrong!
More in Common started with a brilliant vision and mission to bring people together.
But under your leadership, More in Common in the UK has transformed into nothing more than a factory for short, bombastic polls that the media absolutely love.
For the benefit of those reading, this is exactly how the mechanism works in practice:
Right-wing media outlets spend months writing articles claiming that the Prime Minister is weak and useless. Then, More in Common steps in to conduct a poll, asking people for a single-word reaction.
Naturally, people simply repeat the exact words they have been fed by the television. You then package this into a loud word cloud where 'Weak' and 'Useless' scream from the screen.
Finally, those same media outlets take your graphic and publish new articles declaring that the public has spoken.
It is a perfect, manipulative loop.
Not only have the media failed us and dragged journalism down to the lowest possible level, but these types of polls have actively helped them do it.
They have deeply damaged our society by using mechanisms that are fundamentally toxic for democracy, knowing that brief news bites and fast polls reach people quickly, build an artificial narrative, and shape the opinions of citizens.
I would be more than happy to inform both you and your poll designers about everything this government has actually achieved, which the UK media does not just avoid, but COMPLETELY IGNORES.
Just look at the hard data from the Institute for Government. While you focus on manufactured words, the reality shows that nearly thirty major pieces of legislation have already completed all parliamentary stages. From the Renters' Rights Act and the Employment Rights Act to the creation of Great British Energy and major planning infrastructure reforms, this government is delivering its manifesto at a pace unseen in modern history.
Add to this the official economic data showing steady GDP growth and the systematic reduction of NHS waiting lists, and you see a country actually being managed by adults. But your polls are designed to hide this heavy lifting behind cheap word clouds.
For your attempt to manufacture reality instead of measuring it, this is a 0/10.
But to every citizen who refuses to let these manufactured word clouds do their thinking for them, it is a 10/10.
You cannot hide your political machinery behind a neutral badge.
Starmer has terrified you lot, has he not?
“Journalists need to take some responsibility and have a good look at themselves about the way they behaved in the last few weeks.”
The UK media has contributed to the country’s “addiction” to “booting out” unpopular PMs that is making “stable long term government” impossible, says Keir Starmer’s biographer Tom Baldwin.
.@anneapplebaum:
1/2
Richard Tice donated over £2m to Reform to become deputy party leader. Nick Candy donated almost £1m to become treasurer. Zia Yusuf donated over £200k, at a critical point, to get an imaginary title and be on the telly all the time. What does Harborne get for £22m?
It's easy with all the distractions to forget what else is going on. Remember Farage this past week saying 'I can't be bought by anybody'. Arguably one of the biggest lies uttered by a UK politician. #Farage#ReformUK
So as the media
- pull up Streeting tweets from 2009
- challenge any word Rayner says about tax
- analyse any comment Burnham has ever made
They are all ignoring this story / plus the Habib disclosure / plus the £1.4million house purchase
WHY?
@Peston Robert, if only you’d explore the real concerns in UK politics – the raft of corruption allegations in Reform, Farage’s £5m ‘gift’, Farage’s Clacton house, Reform links with Russia. These are big stories that need sorting if people like you promote Farage as the next PM
Unfortunately, my school teacher is no longer with us to grade this piece through her golden rule of journalism: Who, What, Where, When, and Why.
So, let us walk through Laura Kuenssberg's article together and scan it the way she taught me to.
WHO
The article relies heavily on an army of anonymous faces. 'An ally tells me', 'one cabinet minister', 'another minister', 'one source'. This is not verified reporting. It is Westminster gossip and unnamed sources. If sources have no names, they have no skin in the game and no accountability.
WHAT
We are told the race to replace the Prime Minister is officially on. But what has actually happened? One MP resigned from government and another wants to re-enter parliament. Everything else, the timelines, the coronation plots, is speculative drama, gossip, and unnamed sources designed for clicks.
WHERE
The setting is entirely inside the Westminster bubble. An article about such a momentous topic that will affect the lives of millions of citizens contains absolutely no mention of them. There is no word on how the stock market is already reacting or how this uncertainty will impact the entire country and every single citizen.
WHEN
The piece talks about a leadership contest over the summer, yet the author admits this timetable is miles away from being confirmed. A real journalist would know the rules, laws, and procedures, and would offer at least two alternative timelines, including the very real possibility that none of this happens at all.
WHY
We are told Starmer is being pushed because he is a 'slow decision-maker'. This reduces national governance to a personality contest. Why is there no mention of the GDP growth, the many advancements the government announced just last week, or the clear progress made on their manifesto? A proper journalist would look at these undeniable results and search for the deeper, hidden motives of the people challenging the PM.
The Verdict
My teacher would have given this a 2/10. It is a theatre review masquerading as news.
The author lists major issues on the PM's desk, help with energy bills, defense spending, social media safety for children, and so much more. Yet, these crucial issues are treated as mere background decoration for party infighting.
The fact that this comes from the BBC is what should worry us the most.
A broadcaster that built its global reputation on honest, investigative journalism now relies on writers who treat politics like a soap opera.
Between these narratives, figures like Robbie Gibb with questionable political motives, and an Ofcom regulator that does everything except its job, civic trust is being destroyed.
Laura Kuenssberg can go hand in hand with Chris Mason.
We are left to wonder why the two of them are doing this and what their motives are, especially regarding the BBC, which we pay for.
We deserve real facts, not orchestrated drama.

@LukeTryl The Greens and Reform can talk blithely about being in control because they never have🤦♀️. They completely misunderstand the complexity of gov. Not that the electorate who ‘demand’ control have any more clue than what Brexit meant🤦♀️. It’s all manipulation of the masses
