Calandra took over the 8 boards representing 700,000+ students, claiming it was due to poor Trustee governance. This was never true, the independent auditors made that clear. It's a PR message to hide the true intentions of the gov't; 1: Remove the parent voice 2: Slash student funding 3: Suppress opposition from elected Trustees. Supervision has been a disaster for students and families. The only winners are the Supervisors, the political appointees getting $350,000+/ year plus expenses.
