#OnTheSCENE: @SB19Official Makes P-pop History at Lollapalooza Chicago

The Kings of P-pop SB19 made history with their debut performance at Lollapalooza Chicago, becoming the first Filipino act to perform at one of the world's biggest music festivals.

The group captivated thousands of festivalgoers with an explosive set, while fans around the world also tuned in to witness the milestone performance. SB19 also gave fans the first live performance of their upcoming single "Lawless," ahead of its official release on July 31, 2026.

One of the most touching moments came during "MAPA," as the crowd became visibly emotional. Many fans were seen in tears while singing along, with countless Philippine flags waving across the audience, creating a powerful and unforgettable display of Filipino pride on the global stage.

The quintet also performed "Mga Kababayan," originally by Francis Magalona, which is featured in the soundtrack of DreamWorks' upcoming animated film Forgotten Island. Adding to the excitement, Benny the Bull, the mascot of the Chicago Bulls, joined the group onstage during "Dungka."

SB19 wrapped up their historic Lollapalooza debut with "CRIMZONE," as the crowd erupted in cheers. The performance attracted more than 427,000 viewers worldwide on Weverse, while thousands of fans across the Philippines gathered at watch parties to celebrate the group's global milestone.

A landmark moment for SB19 and another proud achievement for Filipino music on the world stage.

Over October drummer Janessa Geronimo has announced that she will be leaving the band at the end of October 2026.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Janessa shared that after years with the band, she has begun asking herself who she is outside of being Over October's drummer and decided it was time to discover that part of herself. While calling the decision one of the hardest she has ever made, she said she is at peace with it and remains grateful for the memories, friendships, and journey she shared with the band and their fans.

She will continue performing with Over October until the end of October, including the band's October 4 show at the New Frontier Theater.

South Korea Unveils FANOMENON 2027 with SM, JYP, HYBE, and YG Leading the Way

SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, HYBE, and YG Entertainment are joining forces with the South Korean government for FANOMENON 2027, a new 11-day K-pop festival dubbed the "Korean version of Coachella."

Set for December 2–12, 2027, the event aims to boost K-culture through concerts, fandom awards, exhibitions, and immersive experiences, with organisers targeting over 520,000 visitors and an estimated ₩1 trillion economic impact.

BINI made a special appearance at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend as part of DreamWorks Animation's panel for Forgotten Island. The Nation's Girl Group joined Liza Soberano, H.E.R., and Dave Franco, and performed "A Parallel World," the film's official soundtrack produced by Nathan Matthew David and Shawn Wasabi.

The appearance comes ahead of the North American leg of BINI's Signals World Tour, which kicks off in Hawaii this August 1.
