@flynnslick The Art of the Steal, 2009. (NOT the Kurt Russel 2013 movie of the same name.) I’ll never forget when I first showed it to my wife a few years ago, and she was angry about it for days. Even if you care nothing about art, it’s an amazing look at how the world really works.
@phr999@sameer_thepoet@TerribleMaps Fascinating. How is it, that the sea level has risen so much, but the shoreline hasn’t moved at all? Even if that could be explained away, why should we care if the sea level rises, when there is no accompanying shoreline change?
@redheadranting There’s 2 sides to the Democratic Party: the social progressive side (lgbtq/abortion/climate), and the common working man side (union/trade/immigration). She only tried to appeal to the first one. Her crowd of elitist liberals is embarrassed to be seen with the second group.
@goddek I remember the early 80s when all the science told us that south Florida population *can’t* grow any more, because Lake Okeechobee is the only fresh water source, and it was already being depleted faster than could be sustained. Our population has more than doubled since then.
@zerohedge They don’t WANT it solved. What if it turns out that this guy’s kid died of a curable condition because he was incorrectly denied coverage? Imagine the public support for the gunman, (which is already really high.) Do you think the execs at Blue Cross want that on CNN?
Life in my 50s on a road trip: uncontrollable urge to fix things in our hotel rooms. Really wish I had packed my Allen wrench set, so I could tighten the handle on this shower door.
