Friday Night Lights are back and with a packed house at Frank Dutton Field the Bulldogs get a dominant Week 1 win over a strong Morton team.

The Bulldogs were in control the entire game. The ground attack on offense could not be contained and allowed the Bulldogs to spread the offense out where Konner Fisher was able to connect with Bryson Tiefenthaler and Jackson Golden multiple times. The offensive line did a bang-up job creating holes for the run game and protecting Fisher.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs were relentless and they shared the wealth with three Dogs collecting seven tackles. The D-Line brought consistent pressure all game and disrupted the Potter offensive rhythm.

Just an all-around complete game by the Bulldogs to kick off the 2026 season. Eyes are not set on U-High.

By the Numbers:

𝑶𝑭𝑭𝑬𝑵𝑺𝑬
Mahomet-Seymour finished with 449 yards of total offense, including 263 through the air and 186 on the ground.

Konner Fisher completed 20 of 26 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown, completing 76.9 percent of his attempts.

Marco Casillas led the ground game with 94 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. He also caught four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown, giving him 134 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns.

Cody Moen rushed 13 times for 78 yards and a touchdown, while adding two receptions for 11 yards.

Jackson Golden led the Bulldogs in receiving with six catches for 122 yards, averaging 20.3 yards per reception. Bryson Tiefenthaler added five catches for 70 yards.

𝑫𝑬𝑭𝑬𝑵𝑺𝑬
The Bulldogs recorded 38 tackles, five tackles for loss and one sack in the win.

Brayden Thompson, Colin Hammerschmidt, and Beau Back led Mahomet-Seymour with seven tackles each, while Renn Vandeveer finished with five.

Brayden Graddy, Talon Decker, Beau Back, Slayton Deck and Jayvon Tompkins each recorded a tackle for loss. Hammerschmidt had three tackles for loss.

Deck had the Bulldogs' lone sack and also recovered a fumble.

Bradley Jones and Aiden Banister each broke up a pass.

Tate Kimball handled the kickoff duties, recording four touchbacks on six kickoffs. He also converted three of four PAT attempts.

Bryson Tiefenthaler had a 20-yard kickoff return, while Moen returned a kickoff 15 yards.
