Christianity isn’t dying.

In 1900, Africa had about 9.6 million Christians. Today: nearly 780 million.

Asia: 22 million → 416 million.
Latin America: 62 million → 620 million.
Global South: 98 million → 1.85 BILLION.

Today, roughly 69% of the world’s Christians live in the Global South.

But here’s the distinction we cannot miss:

Statistics can count Christian identification. They cannot count regeneration.

In America, 62% identify as Christian. Yet only 24% meet Barna’s definition of a “practicing Christian.”

And even practicing Christianity isn’t necessarily the same as being born again.

Christian heritage isn’t Christian conversion.
Christian identification isn’t Christian discipleship.

Jesus didn’t commission us to produce people who check “Christian” on a survey.

He told us to make disciples.

Christianity isn’t dying.

The mission isn’t finished either.

To my Muslim friends: A Jesus who is merely a prophet cannot save you. The Jesus who saves is Lord. Why trust someone who came 600 years after Jesus over those who walked beside Him?

Islam honors Jesus—but fundamentally disagrees with Jesus’ earliest followers about who He is.

The New Testament documents come from the first-century world of Jesus and His apostles. They proclaim that Jesus was crucified, rose from the dead, forgives sins, receives worship, and is Lord.

The Qur’an came roughly six centuries later and rejects crucial parts of that testimony—including the crucifixion of Jesus (Qur’an 4:157).

So there is a historical question worth asking:
Why should a seventh-century claim overturn the testimony preserved from the first century?

This isn’t about disrespecting Muslims. It’s about examining competing truth claims. Christianity and Islam cannot both be correct about Jesus. If Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, the central Christian claim is true—and Islam’s later account of Jesus is false.

Jesus isn’t merely one prophet among many.

The question is not whether you admire Jesus.
The question is whether you will believe the testimony about who He actually is.

John 20:30–31 (NIV)

America does not need a government that establishes Christianity. It needs Christians who refuse to abandon Christianity when they enter the public square.

Salvation isn’t earned by becoming better. But genuine salvation should begin transforming us.

Nothing before salvation earns it.
Everything after salvation reveals it.

So what do you think?

Romans 10:9–10 says confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved.

I believe that completely.

But what if 30 years pass—and there’s virtually no evidence anything happened?

Paul tells Christians:

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.”
—2 Corinthians 13:5

So don’t start by examining everybody else.

Look in the mirror.

Not: “Have I been perfect?”

But: “Has Jesus changed the direction of my life?”

I’ve been reflecting on the conversations the Lord has allowed me to have over the last couple of days.

Two conversations happened with restaurant employees. One needed Jesus. His words were, “I’m not really a Christian, I’m a fan.” (So is much of today’s church! Can I get an amen?) I told him Jesus is a bigger fan of his than he is of Jesus…so much so that He left Heaven to be tortured and killed so He wouldn’t have to live eternity without him.

Then I met another young fella who is a Believer, but is not going to church anywhere right now. I challenged him to find a good church and get ready for God to use him in more ways than he could ever dream or imagine. Jesus is coming soon and we want to be a Church ready to meet Him (which means more than just salvation).

Another conversation was with someone carrying so much of another person’s pain that they’d almost forgotten to talk about their own. It centered on the importance of intentionally stepping away long enough to reconnect with the people who matter most. Sometimes the healthiest thing we can do isn’t to work harder—it’s to be present with those God has entrusted to us.

Then I found myself thinking back to Sunday night. While traveling, we stopped at a hotel where I met a man who had torn cartilage in his right foot and ripped a tendon after stepping off a curb in the dark while walking to work. Amazingly, he still walked the remaining mile to his job. I had the privilege of praying with him and giving him a copy of God’s Creative Power for Healing, encouraging him to read and speak those Scriptures over his life.

As I’ve reflected on these moments, one thought keeps coming back to me: God is constantly at work in the lives of people around us. Sometimes all He needs is someone who is paying attention and willing to say, “Here I am.”

Lord, thank You for ordering our steps and placing people in our path who need encouragement, truth, prayer, or simply someone who will stop and care. Thank You for reminding me that You aren’t looking for someone with all the answers, You’re looking for someone who is attentive, available, and willing to be used.

Ministry rarely happens only behind a pulpit. More often it happens across a restaurant table, in an honest conversation, or unexpectedly in a hotel lobby. My prayer is simple: Lord, help me stay attentive to the people You place in my path, and always willing to be Your hands and feet when they need a tangible touch of Jesus.

It’s not failed perfection, but heart fueled pursuit of obedience that matters once we have placed our faith in Jesus. Grace should never be an excuse to sin, but if we really love Jesus, it probably won’t be.
