NEW: From NDP Leader Avi Lewis about Billy Bishop airport:
“The choice facing the Prime Minister is clear. Premier Ford is in the middle of a land grab and the federal government has both the power and the responsibility to stop this irresponsible and anti-democratic move.”
No money for schools, no money for healthcare but $5B to destroy and pollute a neighbourhood and some of Toronto’s only natural waterfront habitat remaining? Something smells @fordnation
Do not add me to your Close Friends on IG unless you’re a slut or messy or a messy slut. Close Friends is not for when call out of work but still wanna post (unless you’re doing something slutty or messy with that call out.) 😂
I was wondering when the rest of Ontario was finally going to clue in.
For Torontonians, it's a supersized airport that we don't want wrecking havoc on urban life.
But it's your money.
Grocery prices have never been higher. Doug Ford voted against fixing it.
Today, we're introducing a plan to bring grocery prices down: scrap the tax on all food and drinks, and ban chains like Loblaws from blocking competitors with anti-competitive lease deals.
"The average person is concerned about their jobs, cost of living, that they can afford a home. . . "
And all of those things are dog shit under Ford too!
Bill 98, Ford's backdoor upload of the TTC, just passed in the legislature 61-31.
This is a dark day for transit. We expect fares to go up, routes to be changed and consultations with riders to cease.
BREAKING: Doug Ford’s luxury jet cost taxpayers nearly $200,000 in additional fees.
He told us there were no additional costs for returning it.
He lied.
While Ontarians can’t afford groceries or rent, Ford is living like a rockstar on your dime.
When records were about to come out, Doug Ford changed the law to bury them. When court cases started heating up, he changed the law to nullify them.
Is this Queen's Park or the Kremlin? Why does this Premier think he's above the law?
Whoever came up with this should be fired. Why close over a heavy traffic weekend instead of doing overnights when the DVP is empty. The claim of 30 over night closures doesn’t make sense either. 6 hours overnight over 30 nights is 180 hours but you can do it in 48?
The DVP is closed this weekend to allow crews to safely complete critical repairs and maintenance.
Beginning overnight, City staff were on site working across the corridor to remove and prepare the road for repaving. This includes:
➡️Preparing 12 locations for new guardrails
➡️Refreshing road markings on ramps and at key locations
➡️Setting up for structural repairs to the Eastern Avenue bridge
➡️Starting work at the Don River crossing bridge with Metrolinx
➡️Beginning repairs to crash protection systems
While a full weekend closure is disruptive, it reduces the need for more than 30 separate overnight closures.
Some work, including full-width resurfacing and bridge repairs, requires continuous access and cannot be completed safely in short overnight windows.
Thank you for your patience, Toronto. This work helps keep our roads safer and more reliable for everyone.
Did Doug + Co. intentionally greenlight a project with no possibility of moving forward so they would have "no choice" but to substitute a megacasino at Ontario Place? I'M JUST ASKING QUESTIONS.
