WHY THE GOVERNMENT FEARS A LUO KIKUYU UNITY

Whenever Kikuyus and Luos unite, the coalition they form always leads to a tyrannical revolution.

It is a historical thing in Kenya, and everyone in government knows this.

Those who hate change and love the status quo have learnt to hate a unity between the Lake and Mountain.
And no, it has nothing to do with whether the phallus is sharpened or not. It's deeper!

In 1952, Kikuyus and Luos formed a militia under the Kenya African Union (KAU, which would later become KANU) to fight for independence.

Kûng'û Karumba and Bildad Kaggia met with a genius Luo called Ochieng Oneko to form a think Tank for the MauMau.

They were arrested and detained in who we call the Kapenguria Six

And yes- Ochieng Oneko, the Luo strategist, was a MauMau thinktank!

The white colonial oppressors hated to imagine a union between the lake and the mountain.

Whenever the colonialists killed a prominent Kikuyu, they'd scatter leaflets to blame it on the Luo.

And whenever they killed a prominent Luo, they'd blame it on the Kikuyu.

The idea was simple- keep these powerful communities hating each other.
Divide them, and rule them.

In 1963, Jaramogi Odinga fondly insisted that his friend Jomo Kenyatta be released before anything like independence.
"No Kenyatta, No Uhuru", he said

Jaramogi would have been Prime Minister. But he refused because he understood the Whiteman's divisive tactics.

Kenyatta and Jaramogi would eventually fall out in 1968; which soured relationships between the Luo and the Kikuyu.

Two young brilliant minds, Tom Mboya and Mwai Kibaki, would write down a beautiful paper on economic planning dubbed
Sessional Paper No. 10 of 1965, titled "African Socialism and its Application to Planning in Kenya."

The policies in the document would then lead to the conception of the LAPSET project in 1975.

Literally, every major infrastructural project you know today was captured in their plan.
Lamu Port, SGR, Superhighways, Etc.

But Tom would be killed!

The Whiteman had achieved his scheme.
Kenya would sink into a dark chapter for the next four decades!

In the late 80s and early 90s, the country saw a glimpse of hope when the Luo and Kikuyu communities came together again.

This time, to repeal the electoral laws.
They successfully repealed section 2A, which made Kenya a multiparty state!

THe Forum for Restoration of Democracy (FORD) party was formed.

But, like a porcelain mason jar, the new party would fall and break into several pieces.
FORD People, FORD Asili, FORD Kenya and every other FORD they could get.

The division now earned the tyrant Moi and the white man's cabal yet another ten years to loot the country.

In 2002, the Luos and Kikuyus came together to bring down the tyrannical KANU era! 70% of Kenyans rallied behind them to bring an economic revolution that would last ten years.

But how would they run the country on the punitive and draconian white man's laws of the Lancaster Constitution?

In 2001, Luos tried without Kikuyus to bring constitutional changes on Maximum reforms vs Minimum reforms. They failed terribly.

In 2005, Kikuyus tried alone without Luos to bring a constitution and failed terribly during the Orange 🍊 vs Banana 🍌 referendum.

In 2010, gracefully, the heavens conspired to put Luos and Kikuyus in one basket. The constitutional reforms came with the Constitution of Kenya, what people called the Kibaki Raila Constitution.

Kenya had never seen the kind of development that happened when Kibaki and Raila were in power.

Education was free.
Hospital bills were paid in peanuts.
Banks literally chased after people to register bank accounts.
Banks advertised loans and credit like ice cream vendors.
Raila's Tinga would bulldoze Mûrang'a Road and, together with Kibaki, built the phenomenal Thika Super Highway!
These were the good times!

So this idea that Maraga now owns Kenyan social media because a handful of known influencers have come out to support him is not only laughable but deeply shallow, the truth is we have seen this influencer wave before in multiple election cycles, and every time, it crashes the moment real organizing begins on the ground.

The belief that social media dominance equates to political success is the biggest lie peddled by urban elites who confuse digital noise for national mood, in reality, the challenge has always been and will always be how to translate that digital hype into something that a voter in Turkana or Tinderet actually relates to and acts on.

You can gather all the Twitter comedians, TikTokers, YouTubers, and keyboard warriors to align under one name, but unless those voices are speaking to the lived realities of Kenyans outside the Nairobi bubble, then all you’re doing is forming a hype chamber that will collapse the moment the campaign needs to leave the app and enter the street.

What people forget is that niche communities think in niche logic, what works in the feminist space doesn’t apply in the boda boda community, what resonates in tech Twitter is irrelevant in the farming economy, so real influence is not about trending a name, it's about understanding how each audience interprets politics and plugging your message into that thinking.

I have been part of top-level digital strategy teams during elections, I have sat in rooms where we mapped influence by category, not clout, and I can tell you for free, ideas rule this game, not individuals, which is why when people say “Nyakundi hasn't endorsed anyone,” I laugh, because that’s never the point.

It’s easy to jump on a wave and act like you’re part of something bigger, but it’s far harder to build conviction, and that’s why I always say don’t support someone just because I did, support someone because you believe in the message, and if I ever choose to back a person, it will be through ideas, not vibes.

This push to claim social media as someone’s personal property is pure nonsense, this space was built by tension, resistance, conversation, and challenge, not conformity, and anyone who thinks a few aligned hashtags and coordinated tweets equal ownership doesn’t understand what social media is actually for — it’s not a campaign poster, it’s a battleground of thought.

The key is not clout or alignment, the key is messaging, how do we use social media virality to hit the ground, how do we take a viral post and translate it into action in Embu, Kisii, Bomet, or Dadaab, how do we radicalize the middle, the undecided, the quiet, the disillusioned, because if you crack that, you win.

Social media is very, very powerful, not because of the noise it makes online, but because of how that noise can be shaped into persuasion, identity, loyalty, and ultimately, turnout, and if you can find a way to make an idea travel from phone screen to family WhatsApp group to chama meeting to boda stage, you have something lethal.

The big influencers are not useless, they can help distribute the radicalization if they are equipped with real arguments, real stories, and real goals, but they can’t be the entire strategy, because performance alone has no memory, what people remember is how you made them feel about their role in something larger than themselves.

What Maraga needs right now is not manufactured consent, not choreographed praise from the usual accounts, but sharp, honest, fearless strategists who understand how to build belief systems, craft narratives that stick, and create the kind of emotional electricity that makes even a broke youth in the village say, “This time, I will vote.”

This is what has happened,and I believe its the governments (Ruto) plan,but unfortunately we are not stupid. Mps,MCAs and few CSs looked for youths from deprived areas, ghettos,paid them and then ferried them using yellow buses to specific demographics like kiambu,Murang’a,Naivasha,Embu and kikuyu to vandalize businesses while being protected by police.

This is why Police were shooting people even in their homes,kuwachokoza,because nobody showed up for the protest we had set up,but they need to make it look like it did happen,so they went for people in their homes. The objective of this Vandalizing and chaos is to frame these ‘fake protesters’ as violent,and being instigated only by a certain community.
