@FIFAcom you are a sell out joke, nobody is fooled by your "hydration breaks", we all know you bent over for the advertising companies, hang your heads in shame
Enough is enough. I've hit my breaking point and I'm standing up for myself. I'm burnt out and exhausted from seeing my image ripped to pieces on Twitter due to false narratives and incomplete information. Let's set the newest thing, this "win trading" shit, straight.
First, let's start with some facts.
Fact: A bounty was put on my head this past Trials weekend. Whoever stream sniped and beat me the most wins $120.
Fact: An entire Discord server was created for the "event."
Fact: I was stream sniped by a lot of people, many of which using blatant aim hacks and flying around the map hacks.
Fact: Although it's less blatant/frequent, I deal with this every weekend, and myself and many of my viewers are tired of it.
Fact: Some viewers of mine, after seeing how many teams of cheaters were matching me, wanted to help lighten the mood. They put some teams together to attempt to match the cheating stream snipers, acting as "shields" to protect my team.
Fact: As I always do, I hid my screen to keep the timing of my queue secret. This way, the odds of ANYONE intentionally matching me are greatly diminished, as they don't know when to begin searching for a match. This demonstrates my desire to avoid matching any teams that may be trying to match me. A necessary element to win trading is intentionally matching specific teams. I was intentionally attempting to avoid that.
Fact: The "shield" teams successfully matched the sniping cheating teams more than 10 times. In other words, their idea worked. However, my fireteam matched some of the "shield" teams on 4 different occasions. Of course, with them entering Trials just like my team, matching was a possibility.
Fact: On each occasion, we played the game normally. No wins were given. A 3v3 Trials of Osiris match was simply played out. On 1 or 2 occasions, after the game was already 4-0, the opposing team emoted out of respect & recognizing the match was not winnable for them.
Fact: As a result of the above scenario, the narrative that GJake is a win trader was spread on many Twitter accounts, with close to 1,000,000 people seeing these posts.
I'm a human. I make mistakes, and I'll be honest, I make plenty of them. But what took place this weekend was not a mistake. I was targeted and harassed, so my community did something silly to try to make light of a pretty awful situation. The idea that this could be used against me to convince almost a million people that I'm doing something terribly wrong just blows my mind.
I have dedicated six years of my life, two and a half in Destiny 1 and three and a half in Destiny 2, to helping as many Guardians go to the Lighthouse as possible. I have helped almost 6,000 Guardians get to the Lighthouse. I have fuckin battled through some of the worst Metas ever, through tiny fractured player bases, through wild amounts of cheating, stream sniping and harassment, and I am now having people try to warp my image into some "win trading witch hunter." Enough is e-fuckin-nuff. Social media allows for anyone and everyone to absolutely dog pile on any narrative, with little to no context, often with absolutely no proof, and I have been sick to my stomach lately watching it happen. Please, before you go spreading negative narratives about other people on social media, please do a little research first. I understand that the "cool thing to do" is to grab pitchforks and follow the crowd, but we are people.
I've been in this industry a long time. I know who I am. I do a damn good job at fostering a kind, caring, and fun environment on Twitch, despite those trying to paint me in a different light on Twitter. Many other very successful streamers, creators, viewers and players can vouch for my integrity and professionalism. I am no saint, but I am certainly not the monster Twitter has been making me out to be this past week. I genuinely thank everyone who read through this whole post. I encourage you to comment on this tweet, Share your thoughts on the situation, on social media as a whole, on whatever you'd like, but please do so with an open mind rather than a toxic/stubborn angle, as that angle has plagued Twitter for far too long now.
Now, I am going to go stream Destiny 2. Today is a big day for the entire community, and I am excited to enjoy video games alongside other kind folks who also enjoy video games. Thanks for reading.
@GernaderJake I know how it is to have your reputation destroyed by lies without any proof, and the ppl getting away with it, the world stinks and allows these ppl to get away with it and it should be stopped somehow
Seriously Activision, 2 hours downloading the mw2, and go to play the campaign and it then asks for a further 16gb download??? What the fuck is on the disc then???? Complete joke #CoDMW2#Activision#PlayStation5#whatajoke
@Activision so I buy modern warfare to play the single player and multilayer and you decide to delete the game data for both and only keep warzone on my system and if I want to play what I want to play I have to download them again even though they were already downloaded????
@Activision are you dickheads for real?????? I want to play the single player and your update deletes it and installs warzone????? Not everybody wants to play warzone so now I have to wait until the single player downloads and I can't delete warzone???? What a fucking joke
