@RichardBarrow Simply DON'T GO! It's one thing to visit genuine sites if historical and cultural significance and pay a higher fee as a tourist (helps subsidize preservation). But paying higher prices for commercial tourist spots only subsidizes wealthy owners. Why promote this place?!!
@ThaiNewsReports I'm 90% sure this is the location. This bridge has been under construction for about 2 years. I think they were nearing completion with both directions open. (Street view still shows 2 lanes closed.) Obviously something went wrong! FYI... แผนที่ช่วยได้! https://t.co/nE5YE6LFOm
@ThaiNewsReports One thing I don't see/would like to see (not shared by officials?) is how many of those who died, or tested PCR and ATK positive, received 1, 2, or 3 doses. In other words, how many of each cohort were vaccinated vs not vaccinated? (And thank you Richard for the daily updates!)
@RichardBarrow What about 20% of people here without cards or bank accounts? Or tourists who have cards that won't work? Could the operators not have at least provided machines that accept coins and generate barcodes for use on board? "No Cash Accepted" should be illegal - here and everywhere!
@RichardBarrow I do not think that video shows what you think it shows. The pedestrian clearly should NOT have been crossing when they were. The cars had a solid green light and while the driver of the red truck stopped out of courtesy, his stop resulted in the accident.
@ThaiNewsReports The accident happened yesterday and it was just made public today? And an investigation by authorities won't happen until tomorrow? Was this the first accident resulting in death at this site or was it the first one made public? Perhaps some journalists should dig deeper.
@ThaiNewsReports Or, if you want to go see it on Google Maps, this link shows the rough route via the street running parallel to the canal... https://t.co/vvGfoJiDQF
@ThaiNewsReports For those wondering where this actually is located, and if these are places you want to visit or the new boat is something you'll want to take a ride on, I'll save you a trip to google maps....
@ThaiNewsReports China is NOT going to doba travel bubble with anyone as any bubble would pop their zero covid policy bubble. Thailand can talk, but they'll only listen. Don't expect anything to come from this. (Malaysia yes, China no.)
@ThaiNewsReports I'm all in favor of a tourism based tax that helps offset some of the extra costs that tourism causes. But having paid the tourism tax upon entering, I'd expect to NOT pay an additional "tax" when entering various tourist attractions in Thailand.
@ThaiNewsReports At this point in time, data reporting like this is essentially meaningless. Collecting the data can be useful in the future as a way to analyze historical trends, but daily reporting of it? No point.
@RichardBarrow_ @BangkokJackNews He may not have known it was yours. A quick reverse image search using Google would show you a LOT of people are using the image....
@RichardBarrow@ThaiNewsReports Just to be clear.... ".14%" isn't the same as "14%" - it's actually the same as "0.14%".... or about one-seventh of one percent.
@RichardBarrow They said to the world, "Let the tourists arrive
By air or land from abroad in coming days,
Prep a quarantine bed in some small hotel dive
In Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket they stay,
14 days quarantine, if by land, and 7, if by air;
Though getting back home will take some prayer.
@ThaiNewsReports Terrible. Both the death and the reporting by the press. And Richard, I would hope that you might consider how you also report the story here. Respectfully, please consider... https://t.co/sQ1SdBYO77
