I love how it's "no big deal," "just a tool," etc. until someone asks them to disclose it - no one is coy about art made with PhotoShop, animation made with Maya, games made with Unity... so why would it be any different with AI, hmm?
Rn on steam $80 is enough money to buy
$9 for all of the Batman Arkham Games
$4 The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt
$20 Mina The Hollower
$10 Mortal Kombat 1
$2 Sonic Mania
$5 Titanfall 2
$18 Cyberpunk 2077
And you’d still have enough for a baconator combo at Wendy’s
This game ain’t worth it
@jShannonigan I loved this show as a kid, even though it and its webgames scared me so bad that my mom restricted me from watching Nick for a while. One day she actually decided to watch it herself and had to concede "damn this show is actually kind of awesome" lmao
Thanks for the memories
It feels awesome to have no reaction at all to GTA 6, I actually feel morally superior because of it. Real human cattle will pay $80 for a base video game and basically consent to raising prices for an entire industry because they can’t break from hivemind
Eidos-Montréal founder Stéphane D’Astous is interested in making a new Deus Ex.
In a conversation with Thunderpick, he expressed willingness to bring back old developers who worked during his time at the studio (2007-2013) to build a new game that respects the foundations of Deus Ex, keeping its core mechanics of choice and consequence while expanding on what modern technologies allow for today.
“That would be a perfect circle back to my early career,” he said. “I would definitely be able to gather former employees who worked on it (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) and other people that would love to work on it.”
Stéphane also described his vision for how the IP should be handled, with an emphasis on single player, story driven games, steering away from mobile platforms
“We wanted maybe to add more different multiple endings that are well thought out. I would concentrate on a single-player game, not mobile, as I don’t believe it’s the proper platform for it.”
Stéphane D’Astous also criticized Embracer's handling of the Deus Ex franchise, referring to the cancelation of the 2024 Deus Ex game:
“I was very disappointed when Lars from Embracer said in 2024 they wouldn’t do any more Deus Ex,” he revealed. “I said, ‘What are they thinking? That was the bread and butter; that’s the DNA of the studio (Eidos-Montréal).’”
Speaking on the future of Eidos-Montréal, Stéphane was not full of positivity here, but I personally believe Stéphane had some remakes on Phil Rogers, CEO of Embracer Group, although he did not mention him by name:
“I founded Eidos Montreal. It was my baby. I left in 2013 and mentioned reasons of leadership, courage, and communication. Without giving the name of the person that I was relating to, that person is still at Eidos, and now Embracer. Was it Einstein who said, ‘Only stupid people hope to have a different outcome when they repeat something’? There you go, that’s a great example.”
“Because of who is in the driver’s seat in London, and Embracer had the great idea to promote him if you look at his title. If they’re cursed? I’m afraid so.”

This is it, the test bed. Not only for normalizing prices at 80 to 100 dollars but at fully killing physical. The industry is banking on this. You will pay more and get less. Some really dirty shit from all parties involved. Cant wait for the industry to collapse.
"NOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST LET US GO BANKRUPT!! IT'S NOT OUR FAULT WE'RE NOT ABLE MAKE OUR SURVEILLANCE NETWORKS MORE PROFITABLE!! YOU GOTTA BAIL US OUT USING TAXPAYER DIME!!!"
So, they studied the ‘08 playbook on “too big to fail” then crammmed AI into everything whether we wanted it or not, convinced the control junkies in Washington this was their fix for permanent power, and told struggling businesses “adopt or die.”
But now they’re realizing people don’t want this crap. That we aren’t paying premiums for it. That maybe they shouldn’t have built their business model on theft and putting us all out of work. That we will cancel services rather than put up with it or pay them.
Now they want bailouts.
Fuck ‘em.
"It's a different story for the more established studios with an existing following and previous titles. Game Oracle found that the use of AI by these studios resulted in a significant 40% to 60% drop in sales."
Brutal. You slop, you flop.
seeing gamers defend ai is so crazy to me bc literally the only thing ai has done to gaming is actively make gaming less accessible and devalue it as an art
@ikeirut@467Doggo Brandish either goes next to Nocturne or gets a special Nightmare tier all to itself, depending on what version we're talking about/if we count Dela's campaign in the PSP remake.
Happy 30th anniversary, @Quake ! A series that means so much to me and has had a huge impact on my life. 💙
Sadly I didn't have time to make a new piece of art for the occasion, so here are a few Shamblers I've drawn over the years.
