Current authentication solutions remain both vulnerable to attacks and are the main points of friction for consumer onboarding and login flows. A modern approach must solve both usability and security issues.

The truth is most companies don't care about security. They need to be as secure as the next company, but the focus is on checking the box not providing optimal security. So how do you sell a security product? Focus on the features that drive growth.

This shows one of the unfortunate tradeoffs of web3. If you sign in using your wallet, you hold greater responsibility. It makes it more difficult for companies to manage attacks like phishing.
The attacks, which lead to #2FA defeat and account takeover, have accelerated by several hundred percent in one year, leading to thousands of drained bank accounts. report from @wirelesswench#cybersecurity#infosec https://t.co/46yI5D65eB
Tough to imagine another instance where an industry requires so much security and nearly every company blatantly ignores it to focus on growth instead. BitGrail, KuCoin, MtGox, Coincheck, Poly Network, https://t.co/vmyhfBpPtn, Coinbase… exchanges need to do better

Everyone wants to go "passwordless" but what does that actually look like? You can't just go passwordless overnight so the transition has to be thought through. QR login is the necessary transition to the secure passwordless internet of the future.

The process to login to banking apps is great. You open the app, pass biometrics, and you're in. Why is the experience so much worse when you login on desktop? Let's take a deeper dive.

We’ve learned a lot over the last year, from starting with an app, to focusing on mobile SDKs, going through @ycombinator, and raising a seed round. We thought it would be helpful to first explain why we built Keyri, why we exist, and what we're solving.

@seanieb@ycombinator Hey Seanie, we don't store any biometrics (or any user data for that matter). We use on-device biometrics like FaceID, etc., so all of that stays fully encrypted on your phone. Our API facilitates authentication on mobile and web using those on-device biometrics
