Last month our family loaded up the car in Florida and drove to Chicago for a family vacation that turned into a little sales trip too.
Anyone who knows us knows we can’t drive past a store that’s carrying my products without stopping. So with our two boys in the backseat we pulled into a few Walmarts and Food Lions just to see how our products looked on the shelf.
At one of the Food Lion stores we happened to meet the store director outside. We started talking and shared our family’s story. We told him how we built Goode Foods without investors and how the last year has been challenging with rising costs and tariffs pushing us to expand into seasonings alongside our vegetables.
We exchanged numbers and figured that would probably be the last time we’d talk.
Today he sent us this photo.
He said canned vegetables have been selling really well after all the online conversation around the recent produce recalls so he decided to build this display.
Moments like this remind us that this business has never just been about getting on shelves. It’s about the people behind those shelves.
There are thousands of products competing for the same space every single day. When someone believes in your family enough to go the extra mile it means more than they’ll probably ever know.
RIP one more Flock Camera in Chambersburg PA.
Police are asking for any and all leads. So if anyone seen anything about who did this… no you fuckin’ didn’t.
