A city with almost no safe way out. This is the reality today in occupied Oleshky. Ukraine is ready to carry out a humanitarian evacuation of civilians. The ICRC is ready to assist. However, Russia has still not provided the necessary security conditions. People remain effectively trapped, without adequate access to food, drinking water, and medicines, while facing the constant threat of shelling and drone attacks. In desperation, some are trying to escape on their own — even through mined areas. This puts their lives at direct risk. I continue to insist on the immediate humanitarian evacuation of civilians. People must not be held hostage to occupation.

And I can name thousands of other civilian targets they’ve hit since the full-scale invasion.

So this “now we’re hit everything because they’re actively defending themselves” is just a narrative for stupid and ignorant people with memory of a goldfish.

#Oleshky is what russian occupation looks like when the world stops watching.

First, the city was occupied, and the russian forces abducted 84 children and adults with disabilities.

Then, it was drowned by the russian destruction of the Kakhovka Dam. Hundreds are believed to have died as russian occupation forces failed to evacuate people, obstructed rescuers, and later concealed the true death toll.

Now, the survivors are trapped in the devastated city without basic services, adequate food, water or medical care. Evacuation is nearly impossible. The town is facing a prolonged humanitarian catastrophe.

This is so hypocritical to say 'give russia Donbas and they will stop fighting.' They won't.

There is a systematic destruction of all things Ukraine under russian occupation. You just hear little to nothing of it.

#Oleshky is what genocide looks like when it happens behind the occupation line, largely unseen by the world.
