Destroying confidence in the electoral system and other pillars of democracy (media, courts) is their goal, it’s not just pathetic whining. Then they use that lack of confidence to push strongman powers, restrictive voter suppression laws, and other crackdowns.
An appropriate post from Zelensky on the anniversary of D-Day. Nothing from Trump. Which is appropriate, since Zelensky is a fighter against tyranny, unlike Trump.
Tillis calls Pulte “the worst form of sycophant and adviser to the president.”
Warner warns Pulte could scuttle FISA deal. And noting GOP pushback over Pulte, Warner says: “Is anybody going to tell, the emperor In the White House that he has no clothes on?”
This is a disgrace and a shame on the United States. Exactly what many of us warned about. Don’t chalk this in a win column. Great spec ops raid – and it means nothing.
Donald Trump Jr is a paid strategic advisor for Kalshi, and a major investor and advisor for Polymarket.
The Trump administration is using taxpayer money to sue to protect their family’s investments.
This is what corruption looks like.
Can’t wait to watch all the people who criticized the JCPOA and excoriated Obama for “pallets of cash” try to sanewash Trump giving Iran even more cash for a worse deal than the JCPOA.
You are seeing in real time why Trump companies went bankrupt so many times. Set aside your politics. This guy is incapable of making a deal or meaningful decision and it follows the same cycle. Big flashy announcement (Epic Fury). Adversity hits (Hormuz closed). Defraud stakeholders (promise two week solution). Freeze up (endless two week cycle loop). Compound the problem (resource depletion). Final chance to save face rejected (what you’re seeing now). Bankruptcy strikes and blame others during chaos. Rinse repeat.
I love how MAGA apologists who ignored or even celebrated Trump’s character flaws now suddenly discover them and pretend to be brave truth tellers. When it would have cost them, they happily promoted the cult. Now they’re like “oh my God it’s a cult! Why can’t you see it?!”
Donald Trump is the most corrupt president in American history. It is not close. For nearly 50 years, every president separated their personal finances from the office.
Jimmy Carter put his family peanut business in a trust so no one could claim he profited from his decisions.
Ronald Reagan liquidated his investments in 1981 and handed them to an independent trustee with no contact and no control.
George H.W. Bush did it.
Bill Clinton did it.
George W. Bush did it.
Barack Obama kept his money in Treasury bonds and owned no stock as president.
Joe Biden held no individual stocks either.
None were required to by law. They did it because they understood public office is a public trust, not a personal trading desk.
Trump is shredding that tradition. No divestment or blind trust. His sons run a global business empire that cuts deals with foreign governments. His son-in-law manages billions for Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE while serving as Trump’s “volunteer” envoy on the war in Iran. He launched a personal cryptocurrency that foreign buyers used to funnel money straight to his family.
And now we learn his account made 3,700 trades in a single quarter, more than 40 a day, in companies like Nvidia, Oracle, Microsoft, and Boeing. Every one with billions riding on decisions his administration makes.
We must put a stop to this.
Ban stock trading for the President, Vice President, Cabinet, and every member of Congress.
No loopholes.

He’s right. The Republican Party isn’t a party of ideas. Or policy. It doesn’t stand for anything. It’s just a bunch of people being blindly loyal to corrupt madman who controls the primary voting base, but is unpopular with the rest of the country.
Mike Johnson is treating the Strait of Hormuz like it's a natural disaster. It's not. Trump launched a war of choice. The Joint Chiefs warned him it would close the strait. He did it anyway. Kitchen table issues are a consequence of that decision.
I read something like this and I think: Some of us have been so focused on their authoritarianism and abuse of power and lawless that we’ve perhaps neglected to point out the additional fact that these are also just terrible humans—lacking class, grace, kindness or dignity.
You can't be surprised by Blanche at this point. He was Trump's personal lawyer, and everything he does is driven by his desire to keep Trump happy. But it is absolutely pathetic to see the Attorney General of the U.S. spreading these lies about an American election.
Tillis voted to confirm Hegseth knowing that he was comically unfit for the job.
Again, some of the worst aspects of this administration — Hegseth, RFK, Patel, Noem — could have been avoided if Republican senators had even a scintilla of courage.
