Palestinian child Abdulaziz Al Hums died after a long illness, following Israel's denial of his repeated requests to travel abroad for life-saving medical treatment.

The Gaza Ministry of Health says the crisis facing patients needing treatment outside the Strip is worsening, with more than 20,000 patients affected, including people with cancer and thousands wounded in the war.

The ministry says thousands are still waiting to leave Gaza for medical care because of restrictions at the crossings.
