God’s mission needs missionaries.
God’s message needs messengers.
God’s story needs storytellers.
God’s plan needs you- not because He can’t do it without you, but because He wouldn’t want to.
Today could be the day that one day you’ll look back on and marvel at how big God is.
The funny part is it might have nothing to do with you, but everything to do with the people around you.
“Loving others (especially others UNLIKE you) remains a great challenge for the church today. Still, Jesus invites us to be people who deliberately “go unto” others different than us to share his love and show the hope that comes from knowing him.” - https://t.co/1SaYKZ11yb
“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” - Luke 14:11
Dr. Livingstone recognized this and even near death the humility oozes from him, self-paling in comparison to Christ.
“God had an only Son, and He was a missionary and a physician. A poor, poor imitation of Him I am, or wish to be... In this service I hope to live; in it I wish to die.” - Dr. David Livingstone
@drew_meeks This is huge. I think we SHOULD care about sported-owl eggs and condemn those who kill seals. The point isn’t to stop caring about animals, but that human life should be regarded as so precious that we care even that much more.
The Pharisees struggled with this. Luke 14 they harp on Jesus for healing a woman on the sabbath, but Jesus points out that they take care of their oxen on the sabbath all the time. When we to care more about the lives of animals or things more than people, we fall for the trap.
@MikeKHansen Alum season isn’t for another 6 months, i’ll cross that bridge if i ever come to it. Tonight, in every way shape and form, i’m a Dawg. GO DAWGS!
