@RussoHockey There's been a lot of talk about how close the Team USA guys got at the Olympics, and how Quinn raved about Minny. Are there any tampering considerations when it comes to players? I'm still surprised that a current GM got to run Team USA and develop close relationships.
@VMI1538184@NHLRumourReport That's the thing, Detroit is not getting that kind of haul from Minny or anyone else. Yzerman has to move him, there's no fixing it now, and that drives down the value because Larkin has to approve it. The Wings will significantly lose the trade, wherever he goes.
@VMI1538184@NHLRumourReport Detroit is not getting a package equivalent to four 1st round picks. That's what it took to get Hughes in his prime and Larkin isn't getting that at 30.
@NHLRumourReport To everyone saying Minny doesn't have enough, they might be the only place Larkin says he wants to go, and then Detroit is stuck. They might have to take the best offer Guerin will make. The team giving up the best player usually loses the deal.
@JoeSmithNHL@RussoHockey Do you (or more importantly, does GMBG) think it's time to really reset an aging core in the middle and bottom of lineup? Not just moving on from Jojo or Bogo but getting serious with moving at least a couple of Hartman, Foligno, Spurgeon, Brodin, and Middleton.
@RussoHockey@nytimes I would rather have McCarron centering the 3rd/4th line at $3-$4M than Hartman (if they can land a #1 C), Trenin or Foligno at their price points. 4th line wings making north of $3M are a luxury.
