‘Do not steal the happiness of anyone, do not oppress the heart of anyone. Our lives are short, and in our graves we will be in need of those who pray for us and not in need of those who pray against us.’
“If Allāh helps you, none can defeat you. But if He denies you help, then who else can help you? So in Allāh let the believers put their trust.”

Therefore you hate to depart from that which you have constructed [i.e accumulated] to go to that which you have ruined.’”

[Sulaymān Ibn Abdul-Malik said you have spoken the truth.]

[Tāreekh Dimashq 22/20 | Ibn Asākir رحمه الله]
Sulaymān ibn Abdul Malik asked Abā Hāzim:

“O’ Abā Hazim, why do we hate death?’ Abā Hāzim replied: ‘You have ruined your Afterlife, because you have built up your worldly-life,
‘Do not steal the happiness of anyone, do not oppress the heart of anyone. Our lives are short, and in our graves we will be in need of those who pray for us and not in need of those who pray against us.’
Shaykh Muḥammad Amān ibn ʿAlī al-Jāmī [رحمه الله] stated:

From the trials that some of our youths are faced with are:
⠀
[1] Hastiness to excommunicate Muslims
[2] Hastiness to accuse Muslims of heresy and misguidance
[3] Becoming quickly absorbed in dishonouring others

‘Umar Ibn al-Khattāb [رضي الله عنه] said:
⠀
“Whoever decorates himself by displaying to the people some characteristics that Allāh knows are contrary to his real characteristics, will be disgraced and dishonoured by Allāh.”
