The increase may be amongst other things to cushion the effect of lower net pay due to higher tax to be paid

@dangbanamanager For those dt think they are powerless, you have an office of the tax ombudsman, who is mandated to investigate and treat your grievances against tax officers. Remember the Tax Appeal process is also a court process that can go upto supreme court.
