This happened to me today.

I left my office a little later than usual, debating whether to take an auto or the metro. As I was thinking, my wife called and asked, "Which train are you taking?" The confusion cleared instantly, and I headed to the metro.

I took the train and reached my destination.

Usually, my wife picks me up. But today, my kids' yoga class got in the way, so she called and asked me to book a Rapido home.

The ride got booked, and to my surprise, it was an electric vehicle. The rider messaged me, "Please don't cancel the ride."

I patiently watched the map waiting for him to arrive. When he reached, I couldn't locate him. I called him three times, and each time the call got disconnected. Frustrated, I was about to cancel the ride.

Then I saw someone waving at me.

I walked towards him, ready to scold him. The moment I shared the OTP, I realized he was both deaf and dumb (non-speaking)

I went silent.

I got onto his vehicle, and he smoothly drove me home. When we reached, I paid him, and through sign language, he tried to say something. I couldn't understand at first, so he typed it on his phone:

"Thank you for not cancelling."

At that moment, I remembered something I had told one of my colleagues earlier in the evening:

"The life we are living is a dream for many."

We often complain about traffic, work pressure, delayed salaries, EMIs, or the small inconveniences of life. Yet, there are people out there fighting battles we cannot even imagine—showing up every single day with dignity, determination, and a smile.
