Last night, my cousin got robbed by armed gunmen who took away his car & phone in Alkali Road Kaduna. When he got home, he was able to track the movement of the car through the phone the robbers took and he discovered that the car was parked at Mamu Oil in Rigachikun (outskirts of Kaduna).

He rushed to the nearest police station Gabasawa to initiate an emergency chase. But disappointingly, the Police told him they coudn’t go with him, that he needed to submit a report/statement. Before the statement & all the Police formalities, the car was at Sharada in Kumbotso LGA Kano.

Eventually, he lost connection to the phone he was tracking them through (probably because the battery drained or they switched it off). That is how he lost track of his car that could have been rescued in Kaduna.

This is a terrible response to an emergency situation by the Nigerian Police, I call upon the Police Authorities to initiate more swift response to emergency situations to Nigerians especially in this critical times of insecurity.
Furthermore, we are soliciting information from anyone regarding the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle and any suspicious activity related to the incident.
