On the 41st year of the Kanishka tragedy, we remember the 329 innocent lives lost and stand in absolute solidarity with the families who have waited over four decades for truth, accountability, and justice.

The Denied Request:
Canadian security personnel explicitly requested a comprehensive manual bomb sweep of the aircraft’s cargo hold before departure from Montreal.

India’s Refusal:
Air India management rejected the requested security intervention, citing scheduling delays and financial concerns.

India’s Fatal Decision:
Air India management refused to ground the aircraft and allowed Flight 182 to depart—a decision that preceded the deaths of 329 innocent people.

THE MOST STARTLING FACT

The report identifies a single critical decision:

Canadian security officials requested a comprehensive bomb sweep in Montreal after suspicious baggage was found on the aircraft without an accompanying passenger.

Air India management refused the request for a bomb sweep and allowed Flight AI 182 to take off with 329 lives at stake.
