Santa, if reverting these changes is no longer an option, could you at least consider rebalancing the system to help the majority of users who have been negatively affected? The current situation is extremely concerning. While I understand the intentions behind the recent updates, they introduced several flaws that have severely impacted many innocent and legitimate users. We are not asking for special treatment, only for a fair solution that addresses the unintended consequences these changes have created. @Svntvmvriv@KICKEthan
With all due respect, Eddie, if you had to stream every single day for years, you would understand why I believe this statement is wrong.
A lot of people dedicate their entire lives to streaming. I think many people confuse content creation with live streaming, but they are not the same thing. A great streamer will provide quality whether there are 5 viewers or 5,000, whether the stream lasts two hours or twenty. Quality does not automatically disappear because a stream is long.
When someone chooses to stream for many hours, it is usually not because they care less about quality. It is because they understand that time is one of the most important tools for growth, discovery, and community building. Being live longer allows creators to reach different audiences across different time zones and schedules.
Personally, I have been doing long streams of at least 14 hours a day for over four years, long before I ever came to Kick. During that time, I have met every type of viewer imaginable. Some come to talk, some come to laugh, some come to learn, some come to relax after work, and some simply enjoy having the stream on while they sleep. Live streaming serves many different purposes for many different people.
There are also entire categories of content that naturally lend themselves to longer broadcasts. This exists far beyond Kick and can be seen across the streaming industry as a whole. Reducing the conversation to metrics or implying that stream length is a sign of low-quality content oversimplifies a much more complex reality.
Honestly, suggesting that long streams lack quality does not just come across as unfair. It diminishes and disrespects thousands of creators who have spent years building communities, entertaining audiences, and dedicating their lives to this profession. Many of those creators succeeded precisely because they were willing to invest the time and consistency that others would not.
Now, I do agree with one thing: not everyone is capable of doing long streams well. Sometimes it is obvious when someone lacks the preparation, energy, or experience to maintain an engaging broadcast for extended periods. But that does not mean every long streamer should be placed into the same category. Judging an entire group of creators based on the weakest examples is neither accurate nor fair.
If you had to start from scratch tomorrow on a brand-new channel where nobody knew who you were, while relying on the current discovery tools available on most platforms, I believe you would quickly understand why so many creators choose to stream longer hours. Not because they lack quality, but because they are trying to maximize their chances of being discovered, building a community, and growing something meaningful.
The reality is simple: quality and stream length are not opposites. Some of the best streamers in the world have built their careers through consistency, dedication, and long hours. A stream should be judged by the value it provides to its audience, not by the number of hours on the clock.
For that reason, I genuinely believe this comment should be reconsidered. It generalizes a very diverse group of creators and unintentionally dismisses the hard work of people who have devoted years of their lives to streaming. Passion, discipline, authenticity, and the ability to connect with an audience define quality. Stream length alone does not. @StakeEddie
