Ms. Laura Williams, U.S. Consul General in Hyderabad, accompanied by Regional Security Officer Mr. Sidharth Ramachandran and Mr. Venkat Engirekula, Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) paid a courtesy visit.
Having read about my love for sports and cricket, she presented me with a cricket ball with the inscription of the US CG office . I shall treasure that 😊. Discussion was on security issues regarding American citizens and the companies. I explained how the Cyberabad police especially coordinates in these matters through the Cyberabad Security Council and is proactive.

Cyberabad Police conducted a joint Co-ordination Meeting was held on 24.09.2026, at the Main Conference Hall, Cyberabad Police Commissionerate to discuss the findings of the traffic flow, road safety & traffic management survey conducted by the Foundation for Resources and Innovations Policy (FRIP) in coordination with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) on the corridor from JNTU Junction to Raidurgam Metro Station and to Wave rock. The meeting also deliberated the proposal for introducing a Counterflow solution for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as a modern and efficient public transport solution for the corridor.
The meeting was attended by, Sri Sunpreet Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, along with DCsP Traffic-I & II, Addl. DCsP Traffic-I & II, ACsP of Traffic Divisions, CEO-SCSC, CEO-FRIP and officials from various departments, including the Dy. Executive Engineer, CMC, TGIIC and Dy. Regional Manager and Divisional Manager of TGSRTC, participated in the joint meeting to deliberate on the issues of existing traffic flow, identifying bottlenecks, conflict points and examining feasible traffic management and engineering measures to improve the smooth and efficient movement of vehicles along the JNTU Junction–HITEC City–Raidurgam Metro Station - Wave rock corridor.
The FRIP team conducted a detailed road inventory and traffic flow survey along the highly congested JNTU–HITEC City–Raidurgam Metro -Wave rock corridor, covering various aspects such as footpath availability, carriageway width, bus bays/stops, U-turns, junction design, parking arrangements and encroachments. Based on the survey and field observations, the following key issues and points were identified.
· The JNTU–Raidurgam 7-km corridor is already operating near its maximum vehicular capacity, with peak-hour travel time reaching approximately 45 minutes.
· There is a need for a mass-mobility public transport solution along the corridor to carry a larger number of commuters efficiently, reduce dependence on private vehicles and thereby ease traffic congestion.
· A Counterflow Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system has been proposed as a modern and efficient public transport solution for the corridor.
· The proposed BRT system is expected to reduce travel time by up to 20 minutes (from the present 45-50 minutes), increase passenger-carrying capacity and require no major land acquisition.
· Under the proposed arrangement, the Counterflow BRT lane would be provided along either the central portion of the opposite carriageway or on the left side of the road in same direction, with suitable traffic-management measures.
· Bus stations are proposed along the road median, with their locations and spacing to be determined based on passenger demand, operational feasibility and connectivity with key activity hubs.
· The Counterflow BRT system is intended to facilitate faster movement of passengers while minimizing the impact on general traffic flow in both directions.
· The buses would operate on optimally designed circular routes, enabling existing bus services operating along the JNTU–Raidurgam-Wave rock stretch to utilize the proposed dedicated Counterflow BRT lane, wherever operationally feasible.
Traffic Police & TGIIC officials suggested that the proposed Counterflow BRT lane may be provided along the left side of the road, subject to technical feasibility and traffic-management requirements.
TGSRTC officials informed that a considerable number of buses are presently operating up to Wave rock along this corridor and suggested that these existing bus services may also be integrated into the proposed Counterflow lane to improve passenger movement and optimize the utilization of the dedicated lane.
CMC officials assured that necessary support would be extended for the development and improvement of footpaths, bus bays, bus shelters and other supporting infrastructure identified as part of the survey.
Subsequently, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, directed the CEO, Foundation for Resources and Innovations Policy (FRIP), to undertake a detailed study on the practical difficulties and operational challenges involved in implementing the proposed Counterflow lane, particularly with regard to the management of vehicle breakdowns or obstructions within the dedicated lane.
The Joint Commissioner further observed that implementation of the proposed system may require considerable time and resources for the development of bus shelters, bus bays, pedestrian facilities and other supporting infrastructure, besides involving additional requirements relating to manpower and financial expenditure.
In view of the above, the Joint Commissioner directed the FRIP team to reassess the proposal and conduct a further study, with particular emphasis on identifying simple, feasible and cost-effective measures that can be implemented in the short term to provide immediate relief from traffic congestion, while examining the long-term feasibility of the proposed Counterflow BRT system.
Student Mobility Programme Review Meeting Held at Cyberabad Commissionerate
A review meeting on the Student Mobility Programme (SMP) was held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate to assess learnings from the pilot programme and discuss the next steps for scaling up safe and compliant student transportation.
The meeting was attended by Dr. M. Ramesh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad; Sri Sunpreet Singh, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic); Sri Naved, CEO, SCSC; Sri Sathvik, Traffic Coordinator; Sri Vijay and team.

The meeting also discussed developing a mock-up of a proposed Student DPI platform to bring the Education Department, Transport Department and Police Commissionerate onto a common system for better coordination, mobility information and compliance monitoring.
The possibility of deploying 12-seater and 22-seater vehicles through TGSRTC or authorised private operators was discussed to provide safer and more convenient student transport. Engagement with auto drivers and private transport vendors will also be undertaken to encourage the adoption of compliant vehicles such as Tata Wingers and 22-seater vehicles, while exploring available financing and government support mechanisms.
An awareness video/article on traffic congestion around Oakridge School will be developed to highlight the impact of individual vehicle usage and promote carpooling, taxi pooling and shared student transportation.
The meeting reiterated that student safety and compliance will remain the core pillars of the Student Mobility Programme. Meetings will also be held with parents at Bhavans and St. Ann's campuses to understand their challenges and gather feedback from parents already using the programme. School managements will be encouraged to support the adoption of safe and compliant student transportation.
The stakeholders agreed to incorporate the pilot learnings into the next phase and work towards building a safe, reliable and sustainable student mobility system.

Major business families in India like : @TataCompanies@AdityaBirlaGrp@MahindraRise@anandmahindra@JindalSteel_In@MPNaveenJindal@azimpremjiuniv@ShivNadarFDN@reliancejio
have thought about the future and built institutions of higher learning which are comparable to any major University globally.
Barring a few, we rarely find major business houses in AP or Telangana being concerned about education. Rather, they prefer to diversify into real estate.
Despite the presence of many healthcare giants in Hyderabad, none of them prefer to spend on education. Rather they prefer to excel in retail business of their own pharmacies and institutes to cater to their own captive needs like Medical colleges.
Despite the presence of many pharma and biotechnology giants in Hyderabad, none of them seem to have established any Pharmacy colleges. Rather, they prefer to spend on research for new formulations and APIs and promote their own retail chains.
Have the founders of these business giants in AP and Telangana not benefited from the Indian educational system?
Don’t they feel grateful for their own Indian education and the talent pool that helped drive their value creation?
Do they consider giving back at all?
