Lesia Ukrainka (Larysa Kosach), a modernist writer and icon of feminism, was born on this day in 1871.
In her work, she asked what it means to be a woman, a Ukrainian, and a European. Her findings enlighten the research many of us do nowadays.

My new essay for @guardian. About a famous comedian Koulman turned into the volunteer who conducted more than 150 charity auctions with physical, ironical and metaphysical lots collecting money for the Armed Forces. And much more about our fight.

Millions of us have messages for Ukrainian defenders that will forever remain unanswered. My friend @boochelnikova translated these messages and asked me to design and share them to help reach a wider audience. Here are a few.
Our team is honored to be among this group of important and inspiring films.

De-imperialising Paris one bookshop at a time.🧵
I spotted the French translation of my book (alongside Kotsiubynskyi’s Shadows!) in a ‘Littérature russe’ section in a Parisian bookshop (Librairie Compagnie @libcompagnie). 1/7
Advent calendar of Ukrainian art history and Viktor Zaretsy's "Kolyada". It's the night before Christmas. It also involves groups of singers who visit houses to sing carols, usually with characters like Three Kings, Devil, Death, Cossack, etc (we call it "vertep", a crib).
Since its creation in March of 2022, the @IWMDocU research program has supported more than 300 projects of Ukrainian scholars, journalists, public intellectuals, artists, and archivists. Behind each project—whether it is a documentary film, a book, or a policy paper—are people who bring those ideas to life. Therefore, with this series of videos, we want to spotlight the amazing work of these "full-time" Ukrainians.
The interviews with Documenting Ukraine grantees are a tribute to all those documenting the Russo-Ukrainian War. In these videos, they reflect on their projects, the psychological challenges of work during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the fostering of meaningful human relationships, and the evolution of Ukrainian society and culture in general:

32 today. Standing firm and proud 🇺🇦
Being in your 30s means fighting for your independence.
We know how to win uphill battles, and we will win many more. We will prevail.
Happy Independence Day, fellow Ukrainians!
Thank you for your support, dear friends all over the world!
On Ukraine's Independence Day, Volodymyr Rafeyenko reflects on the cost of freedom: "We are destined to constantly prove to ourselves and to the world that we exist, we are here, and we are indeed Human." Special collaboration of @IWM_Vienna and #Suspilne.

Russians are shelling Ukrainian evacuation teams Kherson. They don’t allow evacuation in Russia-controlled territories on the left (most affected) bank of Dnipro. Hundreds of Ukrainian volunteers drive there to help, in spite of danger. No intnl organisation has shown up.
