Researchers at #IITDelhi Developing a High-Efficiency #AC Capable of Reducing Electricity Use by a Third
IIT Delhi researchers (Prof. Anurag Goyal, and PhD scholar Ananthakrishnan K, Department of Mechanical Engineering) are currently testing a laboratory-scale prototype of the proposed system, which has shown potential to reduce electricity use by roughly a third.
The vapor-compression system-based ACs in use today remove humidity by overcooling the air until moisture condenses, which is a highly energy-intensive process. The researchers have developed a new concept that utilizes a compact add-on module to directly tackle moisture.

@bigthink@crmiller1 The book is great. This video is definitely good for anybody who really wants to understand the chipmaking and what kinds of commitment are required to establish a fab.
@AshwiniVaishnaw@narendramodi Great to know. Moved to IIT Delhi in 2014 after working at ASML Netherlands. Chip manufacturing requires precision (~nanometer) motion systems (different design philosophy). I hope the government considers developing an ecosystem to design and build these systems in India next.

Precision Machines are key enablers in achieving high quality, reliability, safety, and performance at an affordable price for any product today. Even the products are designed using the same principles.
