@michaeldweiss I mean blame Trump, sure, but Trump's who he's always been, & Bibi's who he's always been. It's fitting that by manipulating Trump into doing very stupid & ultimately humiliating things, he's screwed Israel. 2 self-serving narcissists get what the countries electing them deserve.
@sleethestak@meadwaj@nope78547666 The Grosvener Estate is clearly the beating heart of the British Economy & not Rentierism gone mad, a huge vacuum cleaner for wealth & the reason much potential productive investment ends up diverted into inflating asset prices instead of adding value to trade goods…
@sleethestak@meadwaj@nope78547666 Let’s talk about the ‘productivity’ of the Duke of Westminster. Tell me about it. Tell me about all the innovation & wealth creation he does.
@MytNhmn@TheStudyofWar The Iran/Israel conflict is currently defined by which country can best manipulate Moron 47. Iran is ahead right now because Bibi persuaded Trump to stamp on his own dick at vast expense & to great strategic, economic & political disadvantage, & Trump knows that.
@MorganE07969703@Lord_Talbot64@HeidiBachram It will probably discourage _some_ from taking direct action expecting justice. Burning down a factory at 3am would've been so much easier & less risky for the perps if having a jury judge their actions is no longer an option the fabled British justice system will offer them.
@MorganE07969703@Lord_Talbot64@HeidiBachram No they won't, because they don't get parole like other people, & they will have to embrace genocide before they are let out at all.
@TessW62@rainbowsnook@AjaTheEmpress@StottieCakes You don't vote people guilty of lesser offences because you want them sentenced as if they were actually terrorists. You just vote to convict them of terrorism.
@MorganE07969703@Lord_Talbot64@HeidiBachram Worth pointing out that a future case on even tangentially similar facts will odds on be a straight acquittal because no jury will risk suffering what was done here - being complicit in locking up people for openly committing noble crimes for decades.
@MorganE07969703@Lord_Talbot64@HeidiBachram They got found guilty of criminal damage. Probably b/c they committed criminal damage. They felt destroying weapons to be used in a genocide was worth it. A jury _might_ have agreed if had been allowed to hear the justification. But no jury ever convicted them of terrorism.
@stevmo74 She could well have voted to convict, believing that acknowledging that criminal damage to the genocide drones was indeed technically criminal damage wouldn't do further harm to people who had spent 18 months in Belmarsh already & would thus be immediately released.
@rainbowsnook@AjaTheEmpress@StottieCakes Sure, put her in jail for exposing how disgustingly corrupt this process was. If the subset of jurors who voted to convict of criminal damage in the first trial had known that doing that would result in so many years in prison, they would undoubtedly have voted to acquit.
@Lord_Talbot64@HeidiBachram What price the rule of law when it does nakedly corrupt shit like it did today? Contempt of court is a fine charge to apply to somebody exposing contemptible things done under colour of law to railroad people of conscience.
