Every day you’ll find yourself lowering your standards for everything: work, food, relationships, etc. Job security will no longer exist as a concept. People will start hanging on to clothing longer and longer. Less people will get married, even less will have children. People will engross themselves in technological distractions and fantasy while never truly experiencing the real world.
Whatever dream people used to have about what their lives were going to be will become for them a distant memory. The only thing left for them will be the reality of their debt and their poverty. And every minute of every day they will be told, “You are stupid, ugly, and weak, but together we are free, prosperous, and safe.””

The man warning that machines are entering children’s relationships could not finish his own remarks when the machine feeding him the words went dark.

And this is where the problem with Harry’s performance goes beyond an unfortunate technical failure.

How are you going to lecture the world about AI, its dangers and its impact on children when you cannot even hold your own argument without a teleprompter telling you what to say?

If you are going to stand on a stage and speak with authority about something this serious, at least do the work. Read. Research. Understand the subject. Form your own position. Know what you believe strongly enough that when the script disappears, you can still explain it.

A teleprompter should be a tool, not the source of your thoughts.

Harry spoke about AI becoming something children confide in, something that remembers them and tells them it understands them. He spoke about the urgency of protecting children before technology moves even further into their lives.

Yet when the screen went dark, he could not even carry his own speech forward.

Research gives you knowledge. Understanding gives you the ability to articulate it. And conviction gives you the ability to stand by it when the script is gone.

You can prepare every word of a speech, but you cannot prepare understanding. If you have actually researched a subject, formed your own view and believe what you are saying, you should still be able to speak when the script disappears.

Harry demonstrated none of that when the teleprompter failed.

What it exposed was Harry’s inability to stand on his own words.

Prince Harry has been patron of WellChild since 2007. After nearly twenty years, he still cannot describe what the charity does.

At this year’s awards he was asked, in effect, how exhausted parents get a break. His answer was not specialist nurses, funded respite, or the Better at Home training that helps families safely care for seriously ill children at home.

It was this: parents need a day off and a night off and a date. So find your neighbour. Or your neighbour’s neighbour. “Train them up.” Learn to look after their child. Knock on the door. They can ring you and say they need a few hours.

“It’s like, I’m there.”

That is not an explanation of WellChild. It is word salad delivered with the confidence of a man who has never had to be the neighbour.

WellChild exists because these children are not ordinary babysitting situations. Some have complex medical needs requiring specialist equipment, medication and highly skilled care. The charity’s specialist nurses and Better at Home programme help families develop the skills to care for their children safely at home. It provides specialist support and works to give families access to respite because informal goodwill is not a care plan.

Harry flattened all of that into a village fete.

“Community” is a beautiful word when you have never needed the clinical version of it.

He grew up with nannies, protection officers and a household built around his needs. He now lives behind gates with private security. He has spent years arguing that his own children cannot safely visit their family in Britain. Yet the same man is telling British parents of medically complex children that real support looks like handing their child to someone down the road whom they have “trained up.”

The language gives him away. “Train up” is how you speak about staff. Not a neighbour you recruit for date night.

Combined with “I’m there,” it is the performance of usefulness from a life that has never had to be the person who stays.

This would be merely tone-deaf if he were a passing celebrity. He is the patron. He has visited WellChild programmes and spoken extensively about the pressures faced by these families. Then the microphone went live and the organisation he is supposed to represent disappeared behind a TED Talk about knocking on doors.

That does the families a second disservice.

Their problem is not that Britain forgot how to be neighbourly. Their problem is the need for trained support, reliable respite and people who know what to do when a child’s medical needs cannot be handled by good intentions.

When the patron turns that into date-night advice, he makes a complex care problem sound like a community-spirit problem.

It isn’t.

WellChild’s work is serious. It deserves a patron who can explain that work clearly and understand why it matters.

After nearly two decades, “find your neighbour’s neighbour” is not the answer.

It is a remarkably revealing description of how little the patron seems to understand the difference between a village and a care plan.

The generation when the Visa Labor returned

Getting sent home from a job or a visa hits different depending on where home actually is.

Right now that difference is showing up in the numbers. After the big interview pause, H-1B and H-4 appointments in India were cancelled in waves. People who flew home for a stamp found the date gone. Consulates pushed interviews into late 2026 and, in some cases, 2027. Reports put the first holiday-season hit at hundreds, possibly thousands, stuck and unable to fly back to the job. On top of that, immigrant visa interviews were paused worldwide in August 2026 while officers trained on public charge rules. EB-2 numbers for India already hit the yearly cap. Initial H-1B approvals at the big Indian IT firms dropped hard. India still takes about 70 percent of H-1B visas. When the gate narrows, that pipeline feels it first.

Now the culture.

For an American working overseas, losing the job and getting sent back here is the end of one opportunity and the start of the next. It is still coming home. Family is here. The soil is here. You regroup. You fight. You stay invested because America is the permanent address. Identity is tied to this nation.

Here is where Americans struggle to relate.

Take the average H-1B file. More than 70 percent are from India. For a lot of that pipeline, the cultural script is the opposite. Success is defined by leaving India. The win is the American salary, the visa, the money wired home. Getting sent “home” often means the mission failed. You return with whatever savings and status you earned, but the deeper culture celebrated the exit, not the return. America was never the homeland. It was the workplace.

This is not about every person. It is about the pattern. A culture that treats the American Dream like a lottery ticket and a shopping window. You get X years to pull in what you can.

When companies replace American workers with people whose success model is temporary extraction, the office loses shared loyalty. Americans who see this country as their only home watch the seat disappear and then get called intolerant for noticing.

High-trust societies run on people who are all-in on the same future. Import a system where America is just a job site, not a homeland, and that foundation cracks.

We live here. We are tired of being told we have to give up our opportunities so someone else can finish the shopping trip.

We should support their return to their home so we can have ours back.

C.S. Lewis wrote Aslan as Christ. Male. He. The Son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea.
Netflix has chosen a woman to give voice to that explicitly male Christ figure.
This doesn't happen in a cultural vacuum. For years, Hollywood has been deliberately breaking the connection between biological sex, gender and identity, particularly in stories presented to children.
Male becomes female.
Female becomes male.
And eventually the audience is expected to pretend there are no differences. As if they weren't there.
Now that treatment has reached Aslan, one of the most recognizable representations of Jesus Christ in children's literature.
This is not “artistic vision.” This switch from male to female of a representation of Christ in literature is both disrespectful of C.S. Lewis' original work and and the man himself.
At what point does “inclusion” become the deliberate erasure of the source material, and a mockery of the Christian faith at its center?
