@Cemintprincess Please never underestimate another country's history, culture, or current situation. There’s so much more to this situation than you might realise, and so many people are suffering behind the scenes.
@pipin_hot_tea Even the other actors who are younger than him know how to behave in this kind of situation. They stayed lowkey. He just wants to make the fuss or too naive to understand the situation.
@gayboyxv As a major entertainment company expanding into the international market, GMMTV should understand how sensitive cultural representation is. They should have handled this with far more awareness and professionalism. The company’s unprofessionalism make us more furious.
@gayboyxv I just don’t get the point Scarletheart Thai but they use a mixture of other countries cultures. Are those that easy to use like that?If they step out and explain beforehand , this will not gone this far.
@kiwiluvsk555 This is like a friend borrowed a pencil of another friend which is very beautiful without saying anything.when the owner found out “ok I used your pencil because it’s pretty. So what?”
@tawansbutterfly@lemonczaeish You are the one who is barking blinded by your idol. Any well- educated person know how the company managed this case unprofessionally.
@multiuniversebl As a major entertainment company expanding into the international market, GMMTV should understand how sensitive cultural representations is. They should have handled this with far more awareness and professionalism.
@multiuniversebl instead of borrowing elements from another culture without properly acknowledging them? There’s nothing wrong with cultural inspiration, but recognition and respect matter.
@multiuniversebl If they had addressed our concerns earlier, this situation might not have escalated this far.If you’re creating a fictional world, why not design everything yourself or draw inspiration from your own traditions
@multiuniversebl Our frustration isn’t simply about the costumes. It’s about how they ignored our calls for over 48 hours and only released an emotionless statement at the last minute, repeatedly hiding behind the word “fantasy.”
@tawansbutterfly@lemonczaeish Cultural recognition isn’t determined by whose money funded the production. Using a country’s name isn’t the only way to represent its culture. The issue is whether cultural elements are being acknowledged and represented respectfully, not who paid for the series.
@Felia_04 If we accept this emotionless statement and the move on, what will stop them from doing the same thing again in thei future?
This is bigger than one series. I want to see the power of Myanmar people standing together to protect our cultural heritage and history.
@Felia_04 What frustrates me most is how unprofessionally this case has been handled. Releasing a statement at the last minute, with no meaningful acknowledgment, feels like they simply don’t care about Myanmar people, especially Myanmar fans.
@Felia_04 I don’t want to stop here. I want this series to be cancelled, and I genuinely feel sorry for the actors and staff who put their time and effort into it.
So basically, Scarlet Heart Thailand used Myanmar’s art and culture without publicly announcing it before production.
Hope GMMTV learns from this. If it were another country, things might not end this easily. Myanmar is only asking for credit.
A fantasy kingdom doesn’t mean you can just mix different cultures however you want and use another country’s art and culture without publicly acknowledging or crediting them.
If GMMTV keeps doing this, whether it’s Myanmar or any other country, they should be prepared for the possibility of having to cancel the series before it even airs.
