@Felia_04 If we accept this emotionless statement and the move on, what will stop them from doing the same thing again in thei future?
This is bigger than one series. I want to see the power of Myanmar people standing together to protect our cultural heritage and history.
@Felia_04 What frustrates me most is how unprofessionally this case has been handled. Releasing a statement at the last minute, with no meaningful acknowledgment, feels like they simply don’t care about Myanmar people, especially Myanmar fans.
@Felia_04 I don’t want to stop here. I want this series to be cancelled, and I genuinely feel sorry for the actors and staff who put their time and effort into it.
So basically, Scarlet Heart Thailand used Myanmar’s art and culture without publicly announcing it before production.
Hope GMMTV learns from this. If it were another country, things might not end this easily. Myanmar is only asking for credit.
A fantasy kingdom doesn’t mean you can just mix different cultures however you want and use another country’s art and culture without publicly acknowledging or crediting them.
If GMMTV keeps doing this, whether it’s Myanmar or any other country, they should be prepared for the possibility of having to cancel the series before it even airs.
@Eileen_tcf We’ve already approached the production company, but their silence is exactly why we’re speaking up here. X is a public platform, not your personal courtroom. Cultural recognition is not the same as claiming ownership, and legal arguments don’t invalidate our concerns.
@aeiaeiei66 It’s unprofessional that as the big company refuses to issue a statement despite the ongoing controversy surrounding its own https://t.co/3SUD41jPae can they remain silent when their work has sparked such a heated cultural dispute?I’m amazed by their shameless attitude.

@Eileen_tcf The issue is cultural recognition, not legal permission. Public domain doesn’t mean cultural context is irrelevant. You’re defending a point nobody even challenged.
@peachchygirl@GMMTV@ScarletHeartTH Why not use your own traditional costumes or take inspiration from Korean or Chinese costumes, since it’s a remake of their series? Don’t dare to, huh?😂And suddenly, “it’s fantasy” becomes an excuse to use other countries’ cultural heritage without acknowledgment? Interesting.🤡

@jane612412 One possibility is that they’re staying silent for now to generate more hype and gain worldwide attention before the series airs. If that’s the case, that’s some low-level marketing strategy from GMMTV.
@jane612412 There are a few possible explanations for their silence, and honestly, it’s weird and frustrating that they haven’t come forward to explain anything, as usual.

@kathneri Of course, people like you seem too busy obsessing over idols to pay attention to these details. 🙃
Sorry if I sound rude. No offense to any of the actors or actresses.
@kathneri This is a series that represents a country, and international audiences are watching it, too. Some viewers may even become curious about the country’s culture and traditions through the series.
